I really thought they’d have to give up Kuzma. Looks like the draft picks sweetened the deal enough.

LA will be able to get another high caliber player.

 

With the Warriors’ injury woes, this makes LA the favorites next season. Of course this assumes everyone stays healthy.

 

Hot take, but I’ve never trusted AD long term. Dude is always banged up. LeBron this season (17 of them) started showing signs of aging. If right, it’ll be exciting to watch.

Will Kemba get what Kyrie and Kawhi are able to get? All things considered, he's probably been underpaid the past two or three years. But, will he get a max contract?

You are naming max contract guys (I suppose you could argue Kemba isn't, but I think he will get max money). With the timing of this trade the Lakers are not eligible for a third max contract guy. This assumes Anthony Davis doesn't waive his $4MM trade kicker.

 

I am all about a team getting the superstar, and I do not fault the Lakers for giving this a shot. But their roster is rough and are banking on winning a title within the next couple of years with whatever they can piece together with a roster full of non-asset players and no draft picks the next few years. How the roster has been managed the past few years has put them in this situation. This is not a Miami situation when LeBron came to town.
