February 21, 20197 yr It sounds like one initial investigation started in mid-January, and has led to three subsequent investigations. The first investigation, which started in January, was into the McCracken AD, Kris Garrett. Garret is now accused of having inappropriate contact with current and former students involving the sending and receiving naked pictures of students. Garrett resigned in early February, and the sheriff investigation regarding Garrett is still ongoing. The second investigation began in early February and involves a teacher, whom the sheriff's department declined to name, that is accused of having inappropriate communication with a current and former McCracken high school student. This investigation is also ongoing. The third investigation began in mid-February and involves the former McCracken County fishing coach, John Parks. This case was reported to the authorities by the parents of the victim, a minor. They reportedly went to the high school initially with their allegations 3 weeks before they went to the sheriff's department, and the school failed to report the matter to the sheriff's department. John Parks is accused of having inappropriate contact and communication with a minor student, and will be arraigned in court this morning. The fourth investigation began four days ago, and involves an 18-year-old McCracken County High School student, Princekumar Joshi. Joshi is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact and possessing illegal sexual images of an underage student. The sheriff's department believes that the McCracken County High School administration knew about this incident at least 2 days before the sheriff's department did, and had not reported the matter to the sheriff's department in that time. Joshi will be arraigned in court on March 5th. Two administrators at McCracken County High School are also facing charges. Principal Michael Ceglinski is being charged with official misconduct and failure to report abuse to law enforcement. Ceglinski is on administrative leave with pay and will be arraigned in court on March 7th. Director of Pupil Personnel, Brian Bowland, is being charged with official misconduct.
February 21, 20197 yr Wow! Who is doing the hiring there... It sounds like a lack of institutional control.
February 21, 20197 yr Not pre-judging the school officials and speaking generally, but what is it with these adults and their relationships with kids? Is this a current phenomenon or has it happened all throughout history? Can't they get their jollies with people their own age? Very unsettling.
February 21, 20197 yr This is a complete miscarriage of trust. If I was a parent from that school, I'd be organizing several get togethers with other parents and drawing more attention to the matter.

Technology however makes it easier to prove and find the evidence that these things are going on.

Back in the old days we were taught to obey our teachers. Sexual abuse was never discussed much less reported. No doubt this kind of thing occurred.
