November 17, 200619 yr It's amazing to think that the state of Kentucky has 2 quarterbacks who are among the elite nationally in all the statistics. I think right now the difference in expectations. Greatness was expected from Brohm and he has produced as expected and has somewhat been taken for granted. Woodson really didn't have high expectations and he has now exceeded expectations. I would be pleased to take either one but for now I give Brohm a solid edge. Sometimes it's tough to be the big dog when it's "expected".
November 17, 200619 yr You need to read my post again. I never said that Woodson would be an NFL QB and Brohm would be in the Toy Bowl. You need to go back and check again. That was some other person on here. I think they both could be in the NFL. But if only one of them was going to be, it would probably be Brohm. I apologize. My mistake! So many posts on here I got confused! I guess senility is finally setting in on me. I am sorry. I didn't think they comment about Petrino pulling Durham's scholly offer belonged on this thread, although I agree with you on that. I have edited my post to remove your handle. Again, I apologize.
November 17, 200619 yr 1. As per the stats: Brohm 5.3% TD ratio to attempts; Woodson 4.6% TD ratio to attempts. Brohm does lead that category by .7%. To be tied, Woodson would have to have 8 more TDs than Brohm, so he is 5 TD's behind. I don't think 5 is a 'lot' of TD passes, but I could be wrong. But I posted the percentage on my initial post which you quoted. 2. I stated that there wasn't a great deal of difference in their career stats, and I stand by that. I can read what I post and my comment was "I don't see there being a huge difference in their career stats". Is Brohm ahead in the career stats category? Abso-posi-lutely! But not by a huge margin. 3. I don't see you disagreeing that Brohm has a better cast around him. Was that inaccurate? The fact is that both QB's have had 1 excellent season, .. Brohm's last year before his knee injury and Woodson's this season. My comments in earlier posts stated clearly that Brohm was the better QB and I still believed he would also be a better NFL QB at this point in their development, however, you seem to take everything positive about Woodson as a slam on Brohm. Brian is more polished and Andre is still knocking the edges off of his game. My point was simple, ... Brohm is ahead of Woodson overall (the stats bear that out) but Andre has closed the gap significantly. If you based your opinion on just this season, Andre has been better. However, over the past 3 years who is the best between them,. ... well the stats and most all should agree that would be Brohm. But the impression many of us are getting is that anyone stating the Woodson is even on the same planet with Brohm should be shot for being moronic heretics. They are both excellent college QB's and we should be happy for both and not take it as a personal insult that another QB is getting some love across the state and country for that matter. There is enough room in our state to have 2 good QB's. It worked when we had Couch and Redmon, why not for these 2 fine young men? For the record, I have NEVER said that Woodson was better than Brohm, ... just that he was having a better year and wasn't that far behind him on career stats. First of all I just want to let you know that I did comment on your post, but I wasn't just talking about you specfically, I was talking about more what other people have said, and I just needed to use the stats you posted.:thumb: I admit when I first saw this thread and posted in it I thought it was laughable to compare the two. But really after looking at it, you all see that I did change what I was saying. I know for the most part nobody anymore has been saying Woodson is no where near Brohm, because most people have admitted Woodson has gotten closer. I know I even said that Woodson has closed the gap considerably this year between the two, but that I still think RIGHT NOW that Brohm is better. And I know you have agree with that. The thing most of us keeping arguing about now is to the people who take this season by Woodson and just say he is the better QB over Brohm, and we just tried to get them to actually really look at the whole picture. Because then these people will see that Brohm is still the better QB RIGHT NOW, but Woodson definitely is not to far behind anymore...

Agreed! :thumb: I think it's a lot of fun that we can even have this discussion. Noone would have expected this prior to the season.

No worries. I understand how it happens. I've done it myself. So don't sweat it. About Brad's scholarship, or lack thereof, I think I had a reason to say it, but I don't remember. It was probably just to get another shot in on Louisville, if nothing else.

November 26, 200619 yr Anyone think Brohm would have been flagged on the delay of game like Woodson was? Especially since he calls his own audibles and doesn't have to look to the sideline? Yeah, me neither.

Yeah, me neither. I doubt it seriously but I do think with the pressure Tennessee was putting on Woodson all game, Brohms stats would have been much less impressive than Woodsons...
November 26, 200619 yr I doubt it seriously but I do think with the pressure Tennessee was putting on Woodson all game, Brohms stats would have been much less impressive than Woodsons...So you're saying UK's line is better than Louisville's? I know lots of people thought that BEFORE September, I just wasn't aware that people thought it today...
November 26, 200619 yr The way I look at this discussion is: Which QB is the NFL paying the most attention to? My answer is Brohm, by a good margin. I'm a UK fan, but I'm pretty sure I'm right about my assumption. I guess we'll see on draft night.

Yeah, me neither. Brohm always does things perfect, like missing all those open WR's in the 2nd half against Rutgers. Look we both have very good QBs. Brohm is a better prospect. But if you want to go look for their shortcomings we can go there too.

He didn't miss many today when the line kept him clean (21-29, 338 yds, 4 TD not counting 2 called back.) In any case, am I wrong? UK lost their chance today with that penalty, I think there's plenty of Wildcat fans that will agree with that one.

The NFL draft is built to make QB's high picks even if they have a ton of question marks. I can name over a handful of low picks starting today, I can also list over a handful of top pick QB's not even in the league still cashing checks.

A lot of the blame should be placed on Andre but the coaches should see that too. They can call timeouts also. Overall, Andre played pretty well today I thought (haven't seen any stats yet).
