November 26, 200619 yr No delay of game penalties for UL this year?? A lot of the blame should be placed on Andre but the coaches should see that too. They can call timeouts also. Overall, Andre played pretty well today I thought (haven't seen any stats yet). I actually don't think the blame lies on Andre per se, but it lies on a system of checks being called from the sideline. And Woodson's play-reading skills are part of that. The coaches are also negligent for not forcing him to develop them better. And they're certainly part of any comparison between Woodson and Brohm. As for 'No delay of game penalties for UL this year??', I'll ask the original question: Do you think Brohm would have been flagged for delay of game in the same exact situation? I say no, because Brohm makes his own checks.
November 26, 200619 yr Also if u put Andre on a team with the talent like U of L he would have a much better year than what he is having with his team now.
November 26, 200619 yr Also if u put Andre on a team with the talent like U of L he would have a much better year than what he is having with his team now. Do you include having a cadaver tendon in his knee and a reattached thumb in 11 months for Woodson with more talent???
November 26, 200619 yr Also if u put Andre on a team with the talent like U of L he would have a much better year than what he is having with his team now.But not with U of L's coaching staff. Petrino makes Hunter call his own checks and audibles, and he's been clear it's not his strong suit. Could Woodson handle it? UK's coaches appear not to think so, and I think even those wearing pretty blue tinted glasses would admit that Louisville's playbook requires more heavy lifting than the Wildcats.
November 26, 200619 yr When you're picking grass out of your tonsils, it's easy to miss open wide recievers. He didn't miss many today when the line kept him clean (21-29, 338 yds, 4 TD not counting 2 called back.) In any case, am I wrong? UK lost their chance today with that penalty, I think there's plenty of Wildcat fans that will agree with that one. Who did UL play today? Wasnt it a team that has lost 5 games in a row? Who did UK play today? A top 25 team that spanked the 2nd best team in the Pac10. Brohm got a taste of Woodson's world against Rutgers, not having time to throw several times.

If Brohm were in the exact same situation, you can't say for sure that his team would have won. But you can say pretty certainly that they wouldn't have been taken out of position by the penalty.

Ok... we're pretty certain he wouldn't have been penalized. I guess this settles the argument

November 26, 200619 yr So you're saying UK's line is better than Louisville's? I know lots of people thought that BEFORE September, I just wasn't aware that people thought it today... Nope...Saying Woodson is better than Brohm...Isn't that the thread...Thats my take on it and I'm sticking to it...
November 26, 200619 yr Anyone think Brohm would have been flagged on the delay of game like Woodson was? Especially since he calls his own audibles and doesn't have to look to the sideline? Yeah, me neither. Joker said the delay was totally his fault for getting the intial play in late. If you wanted so bad to get this thread going again, you probably should have come up with something relevant to the debate.
November 26, 200619 yr But you can say pretty certainly that they wouldn't have been taken out of position by the penalty. Is this a joke? I guess UL has not gotten a delay penalty since Brohm became the starting QB? Joker takes the blame for the penalty, leave it at that, and quit embarrassing yourself.
November 26, 200619 yr Woodson played well yesterday. He made a mistake, it was a big one. He saw the play clock but thought he could get it off in time. His fullback couldn't get set in time. The "Golden Boy" would never have taken a delay of game.

I would disagree...I think UK lost their chances with a missed FG and missed extra point. And the FG wasnt a long one....should have been made. With those points KY wouldnt have had to worry about that at the end of the game and could have just kicked a FG for the win.
November 26, 200619 yr I've seen Carson take far too many delay calls to buy this one Ram...Different clock rules, and more complicated checks. And if Carson took a delay in THAT situation, he'd take heat for it, too. The circumstances matter.
