The point is everyone keeps saying declining enrollment like it is something new. It has been declining since the 1960s when there was 7 Catholic grade schools in Northern Campbell Co and now there is 1 small one. Pick 1967, 1977, 1987, 1997, 2007, 2017 and it will have gone down in every period. This isn't anything new. Their football roster has been 40-45 pretty consistently since 2000. Enrollment was declining under Schneider and declining when Eviston took over and it was declining when Wagner took over. That does not really have an effect on football.

I think his point is there used to be... St. Stephens, Corpus, St. Vincent, St. Bernard, St. Anthony, St. Francis and Sacred Heart... All of which had a larger enrollment than the Holy Trinity (which they all morphed into). The feeder system to NewCath is way smaller now, and St. Catherine and St. Thomas are significantly smaller as well. They have to get 50% of the St. Joes kids, which gets harder and harder each year, to have a chance to be a viable school let alone a viable football team.

There are 4 small schools in Northern Campbell and with St. Joe it depends on the year.

Dayton, Bellevue, Newport had 7 Catholic grade schools in the 60s and now there is 1 small one in Northern Campbell Co. The feeder schools for Brossart are much larger than those for NCC, but NCC has larger enrollment due to the "splitting" of St Joe's. The NCC feeder schools and the cities they are located in will only get smaller as more urban flight occurs. That slow process has been in place for 40 years now.

Among the NewCath faithful there are a few names going around. The truth needs to come out before the next coach is named. If 2 or 3 coaches turned on Wagner to move up the ladder then they all need to go. Hire outside the NewCath family is the only way to go then.

Is the job even posted anywhere yet? I haven't seen it on KHSAA or the Diocese website, although interestingly enough they do have a middle school head coach job posted for NCC

Question on this topic. Will the head coach not have the ability to pick his own staff? If so, not sure these so called assistants have a job right now either.

Enrollment doesn't make a difference in football? So your saying if I get to pick my team from 1600 kids I statistically don't have a better chance to succeed than If i pick from 300 kids? I find that really hard to believe. Whichever school your at that it doesn't bother do they play all 6A schools to prove this theory?

With the way Wags was treated by parents and so called assistant coaches why would someone want to put their self in that position.
