Boone County 67 Highlands 50

Recommended Posts

Game starts off with Highlands shooting 2 free throws because a Boone County player dunked in front of the officials in warm-ups. Both free throws were missed, and they followed that up by missing the next 7 in a row. Finished the game going 9/22 from the charity stripe.

At first look the Birds have some nice size on the court, especially Tyler Gulley....a slimmer version of last years "load", Kyle Finfrock. Gulley scored the first 8 Highlands points with point blank shots, and after that was pretty much rendered useless in the Highlands offense. :idunno::idunno::idunno::idunno::idunno:

NOTE to Highlands staff, that kid needs to touch the ball EVERY time down the court......Boone had ZERO answer for him.

Nate Roberts is a nice player, has a big motor. :ylsuper:

For the Rebels, Ethan Haynes was pretty much silent in the 1st half, but played much better in the 2nd stanza. Ethan Robbins kept Boone in the game in the 1st half, with very nice play at both ends of the floor. He was just as solid in the 2nd half as well.

Boone County's Raymond Rodgers, the smallest player on the floor was ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSIVE, without him the Rebels lose this one. He started to get hot from distance in the 2nd quarter and in the 2nd half he continued his impressive performance from outside, as well as his ability to penetrate in traffic to score. :ylsuper::ylsuper:

When Rodgers is focused he is a bundle of energy that make things happen. Keeping him focused is crucial to Boone's success.
