Louisville head coach Rick Pitino and athletic director Tom Jurich are out

Athletic director Tom Jurich is also out at Louisville, a source tells ESPN's Jeff Goodman, after the program was linked to a federal investigation into fraud and corruption in recruiting.

Some people are saying Jurich said he wasn’t firing Rick.

 

Some people are saying he told them it’s not his job to fire Rick, which is technically right, because the Board has to do it. Jurich, in Pitino’s case, doesn’t even have the power because of his contract.

 

How it actually went down will greatly affect my opinion on it.

They have both been placed on Administrative leave until next board meeting?

PJ wanted Pitino out due to the sex scandals and their negative publicity. Jurich refused. So both ended up in PJ's cross-hairs.
