Cooper has to be pleased. CovCath gets the season-long 3rd and 4th teams in their half.

 

Going to be fun.

 

The positive of this is it will force CCH to get off to good starts and play with max intensity. Like every team they can slack off a bit against lesser competition.

Lloyd and Newport will be a fun game to watch.

 

CovCath vs Dixie will be a battle as well.

 

I expect Cooper and NCC to roll big.

 

2nd round matchup of NCC vs CovCath likely will also be awesome. Rematch of last year's final.

 

I think Cooper and CovCath reach the finals like most expected and wished for.

I'm hearing some sort of sports induced asthma breathing problem. Hopefully things work out for the young man, definitely hurts the Cats without him on the floor.

Both NCC and Ryle are inconsistent. Ryle can beat Conner and Holmes but lost to Holy Cross and Beechwood and Highlands and Boone Co. NCC beat Holy Cross, Beechwood, Highlands and Boone Co but lost to Conner and Holmes.

 

So its kind of a tossup since both seem to have good days and bad days.

No team can relax. That includes Cooper. They learned there lesson 2 years ago at regionals.

A lot of water under the bridge since then, but when HC and Cooper played in the first game of the year for HC, it was a close game into the final minutes (I think HC got to within 2 or 3 with a couple of minutes left). I think both teams have gone in opposite directions since then, but you never know. I am sure Tim Sullivan won't allow them to look past HC .... there are those that would suggest some of the great Holmes teams that Tim Sullivan was on as a player got caught looking ahead, pretty sure he won't let that happen ...
