August 3, 201610 yr I don't know about Trinity but HHS had a lot of 2 a day practices when my son played. Not much time to do anything but practice, hydrate and rest. He couldn't even keep up with his grass cutting business. Well, not sure what to say. Somehow he managed to go to school, play football, work and maintain a 4.0 GPA. Trinity must not have the same high standards as HHS.
August 3, 201610 yr The one thing you learn from this thread is who grew up rich. I don't know how you don't have a job until college. I certainly did not grow up rich and I didn't have my first job until after my senior year of high school. My parents let me commit myself to sports, which paid off in a baseball scholarship.

August 3, 201610 yr Summers from age 16 to 22 - lifeguard 6 of the 7 summers, construction laborer one summer 3 semesters in college - psychology lab 2nd year graduate school - graduate assistant, psychology department Entire career after school was at the local mental health center. Substance abuse counselor, payroll/accounts receivable clerk, comptroller. Worked there for 29+ years and retired just after my 53rd birthday. So you retired in 1960??
August 4, 201610 yr Lets see- Mow grass/yard work Cook at Biscuitville Funiture plant/warehouse Army chemical plant Mattel toy manufacturer used text book warehouse campus rec supervisor while in college, while doing that flag football/basketball/softball umpire waste water treatement plant laborer state government Basketball coach. I know, its a voulenteer gig but I probably work harder at it than I have about anything else and it takes as much time as a lot of jobs.
August 4, 201610 yr At 18 and fresh out of highschool I worked as a wire puller for Allied Comunications in Lexington Left that job for one at Hitachi Automotive in Harrodsburg where I stayed 12 years, 10 of which were as a tool and die machinist. Got "bought out" of that job and worked 2 years for myself, before landing at Capital City Tool, where I still work. I've been at this latest job for 6 years now and like it about as well as a person can like a job. Great people to work for, and no I'm pretty sure no one there is a BGP er, before I catch crap for talking them up!

August 5, 201610 yr 1980-1994 my own lawn, landscaping, snow removal business 1989-1992 DHL 1991-1994 US Post Service (mailman in Sharonville) 1994-present Federal Express For all of '91 & '92 my day went 7:00am drive to Sharonville PO work till 5:00, come home check on my workers cutting grass, head to Softball City, Rumpke, Expressway Park for softball, come home and sleep for a couple hours, then head to the Airport to work at DHL at 12:30am, get off at 5:30 shower at DHL grab a bite to eat and then head to Sharonville and do it all over again. I was flush with cash, but never had time to spend it. :lol2: #burningthewickatbothends Had a few part-time jobs from '85-'89 during the fall an winter to hold me over till grass cutting started. August 5, 201610 yr 12 counting the lawncare I'm currently doing tax free. I feel sorry for employers who judge a candidate based on their work history. I know a lot of really smart people who are still figuring out where they want to go in life, but make for exceptional workers in the meantime.

August 5, 201610 yr That is insane, running on 2-3 hours a night? Did you deliver mail by foot or vehicle? Believe it or not, once you get a routine down with it, it is not too bad. Honestly I thought I got better sleep on those 3-4 hour sleep cycles than I did on 6-8 hour cycles. Your body tends to reboot better.
