Jumper_Dad
World's Smallest Hard Drive Writes Data Atom-By-Atom Dutch scientists have developed a unique solution to deal with the data storage problem. By manipulating single atoms, researchers have created the world’s smallest hard drive capable of storing 1 kilobyte of data (8000 bits) in a space under 100 nanometers across. The technology means that all the books in the world could be stored on a device the size of a postage stamp. Incredible advance, as storage is quickly becoming an issue for all companies that store large amounts of data and wish to recover it easily. Just imagine when Extraterrestrials zip into orbit over the Earth. In an instant they possess all knowledge that is electronically available and they can probably store it all on a something the size of a pinhead and have space leftover. Then they'll hit us with that electromagnet pulse then fly off, leaving us to start over again. I hate aliens. :sssh:
