Your favorite Sweet 16 moment

I attended the Mason Co. Trinity game that Lofton hit a three to put the game in overtime, and then finished the overtime period with a dunk, a great game.

This has already been mentioned, but in 2004 when Warren Central beat Mason County in the finals. I remember Dewalt catching the ball one handed off a rebound and slamming it home. I remember thinking in my head that it was the best "live" dunk that I had ever seen.

I also remember sitting in the stands with my family and I turned to my dad and said, "How can you only score 5 points and flat out dominate a basketball game?" Lonnel DeWalt had something ridiculous like 5 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks. He was amazing during that tournament. The Dragons were fun to watch that year.

I also liked how when the starting lineups were called that DeWalt and one of his teammates would act like they were boxing. If you remember this, you'll know what I'm talking about.

1. No doubt when Ritchie Farmer lit up Allen Houston

2. Pulaski Co winning a title for Dave Fraley

One of my favorite moments was when Bishop Brossart made there debut in the sweet sixteen in 2001, beating Graves County only to lose to Russelville in the next round.

1. The other bunch of Clay Co. guys that could flat out play some ball was the 92' team. Lead by Shannon Hoskins, Robert Marcum, Mark Smith, Todd Pridemore, Chris McKissic, Todd Messer, and James Downey. Clay Co. played Ballard in the the first round of the Sweet 16 in 1992 and Ballard had DeJuan Wheat. Believe the game went to one or two overtimes and was back and forth the whole way. I think Shannon Hoskins led Clay Co. with 29 and DeJuan Wheat for Ballard was amazing with 38! I think?? Clay was beaten out by Lexington Catholic in the semis.

2. I have to say watching Breckinridge Co. in 94' or 95' was great. That was a fun team to watch!! I don't think anyone gave them a chance that year. Kind of reminds me of Hoosiers!!!

3. Hazard vs. PRP 1986 semis!!! Hazard had a guy by the name of Carl Wallace, he was a heck of a ballplayer!! Wished Hazard would have won!! Was an exciting game none the less! Oh yeah, I remember seeing the umbrellas being thrown along with everything else!!

I was at the tourney watching Breckinridge County. They were an awesome team. I remember their fans singing, "ahhhh BC! ahhhh BC!"

Lofton hits the three at the buzzer vs. Trinity (2004) when everyone in the building knew he was going to take the shot, sending the game to an eventual triple overtime.

Chris had to make some kind of spin move to get open. I don't know how he even knew where he was, but he made an incredible shot.

Oddly enough, I cannot remember this at all. A lot of that game has become a blur to me, and I lost my copy of the tape when it was on television. But knowing them, I can definitely picture it.

As for his stat line, he definitely made his presence felt without having to score, which really was what I liked most about Worm. A lot of players in his position and with his talent would have insisted on getting the ball and maybe could have hurt team chemistry. Worm was willing to do the things that made the team better and would score when it was needed. One of the things I remember most about the Mason County game were the his two goaltending blocks (only one was counted), which served more to intimidate than anything. Made the players think about it when they came down the lane. Ultimately all of that along with his football talent is what makes me saddest about him playing D2 football in Alabama.

He did attend UK to play football correct?

what happened there?

I believe that he didn't take care of things in the classroom.

Sure was a force in the 2004 Sweet 16, though!

I loved Rick Jones shot over Lexington Catholic in the semis.

I did as well. One of the best games I have had the pleasure to watch.

Not unless you saw the show Barbour put on.

i saw both. and mr. lofton was unbelievable. 9 threes in the championship game??? insane.

ill give barbour his props though, he was sick as well. lofton turn out to be slightly a better college player too!

I remember those goal tending plays as well. It was like after he blocked it "illegally" the first time it made the Mason Co. players think twice about shooting over him the following times. Patrick Ewing used to do the same thing at Georgetown.

I agree with many it had too be Lofton's buzzer beater at the end of regulation against Trinity. It was one of the hardest shots that was made i have ever seen

Also cant forget Paducah Tilman tear through the 2002 tourny and Orlandus Hill shot blocking parade the first two games as he collected 11 in 2 games against a good team (cant remember) and a well rounded Mason co team
