Watching St. Henry just come up short in 2003 against Mason Co., in the schools only appearance at Rupp. Mason went on to win.

My greatest was watching Lexington Catholic's high powered team run through the competition the year they took state, in I believe '02. However, watching Barbour's amazing performance two years before was also something amazing to watch.

Watching DeWalt of Warren Central in the Finals 3 years ago and that huge monster dunk was unbelieveable.

Unbelievable? Yes. My favorite moment? Not quite. ;)

PS - He walked. :D

Probably should have said my most recent favorite memory. Been going for quite sometime now.

PS- No he didn't. He didn't have time to walk. He caught that thing at about what appeared to be 4 ft above and 4 ft away from the rim and in one swift and incredibile motion slammed that ball down thru the hoop in what was certainly the greatest high school dunk I have ever seen and quite possibly a top 5 dunk on all levels of play.:thumb:

If Michael Schmidt, St. Henry's center, hadn't suffered a knee injury late in the first half, St. Henry probably would have won the game and there would have been no Chris Lofton heroics on Saturday. The Royals had no answer for Schmidt in the low post.

Favorite Sweet 16 moment? Bodysurfing Gametime!:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

Well, I have been to the Sweet 16 a handfull of times and like BigZig..3 of those times I never made it to a game. However, the 2 times I did I was fortunate enough to watch Farmer drop 52 on Ballard in a losing effort back in 88' at Freedom Hall. Also, this past year watching defending champs South Laurel lose a nailbiter to Graves County was awesome. That 6'0 kid from Graves owned SL....and seeing Proffit just take over the game in the last few minutes only to miss that last second shot was epic as well. He can play but I cant say he didnt have that coming to him wiht all the "hot doggin" he did in those last few minutes.

In 2005 when Pendleton County lost a nail-biter to P.R.P in the 1st round on Wednesday evening. The final score was 64-61 in overtime. Then P.R.P. beat Ballard in double overtime and went on to lose to the eventual state champion South Laurel in overtime. P.R.P. played in four overtimes in only three games that year. I'd say fatigue was a factor in that Tournament.

Fairdale's Jermaine Browns Dunk on a Covington Holmes player in the 1990 finals in Freedom Hall was amazing.

Unbelievable? Yes. My favorite moment? Not quite. ;)

Did the official call it? There is your answer.

You're right - my mistake. DeWalt had so many dunks in the Sweet 16 that I was confused as to which one you were talking about. The put back dunk against Mason Co. was absolutely amazing, you're right. And there was no way he walked.

My mistake. BZ, when will I stop doubting you? :D

It's a mistake that many make but I'm glad to see you are starting to come around. I knew if I waited long enough I could convince some of you that occassionally know what I'm talking about. :sssh:

Watching Bob "Tree" Muntis drain sky hooks against Lou. Westport in 79 1st round victory for the Birds.

Watching the boy's from CovCath root on their Colonels since 1967. None better, and this year both the cheerleaders organization and the KHSAA agreed, they are the best.....hands downs.......

Game highlights:

1. Lofton goes off in the 2003 tourney; final game vs. Ballard especially. Lots of folks forget that St. Henry came within an eyelash of beating the Royals in the first game, IMO if Schmidt hadn't been out for a few minutes with an injury the game may well have gone the other way - just as Westsider said earlier in the thread. With no starter over 6'2", Mason County had a terible time handling the guy.

2. Lofton hits the three at the buzzer vs. Trinity (2004) when everyone in the building knew he was going to take the shot, sending the game to an eventual triple overtime (why coaches won't tell their team to foul with a couple of seconds left while up by three I'll NEVER understand).

3. Mason County defeats Scott County in another classic in the 2004 tourney, playing (the whole tournament) minus one starter and having played a triple overtime game earlier in the tourney (see above).

Personal highlight:

My daughter participating in the National Guard halftime shootout in the 2006 Mason County-Apollo game. Priceless!
