February 27, 201610 yr The recent Steph Curry buzz got me thinking. Who is the most dominant pro athlete of all time? Without looking anything up, the first name I think of is Wayne Gretzky and the way he obliterated NHL scoring records. Who else is in the mix?
February 27, 201610 yr Author The Babe Wilt Gretzky Probably second on my list. There were times when he hit more homers in a season than many teams. And was an ace pitcher.
February 27, 201610 yr I have a few that come to mind 1. Tiger Woods in his prime was pretty unbelievable. They changed golf courses to slow him down. 2. Randy Johnson--unhittable for a long stretch of time 3. Lawrence Taylor--created a whole new position in the NFL

Success in the regular season is one thing. Last years title run was against severely handicapped opponents in every round.
February 27, 201610 yr I'd say Gretzky. If track and field is to be considered, Usain Bolt has been virtually unbeatable for a long time.
February 27, 201610 yr The Babe Wilt Gretzky I agree...that Didrikson Zaharias lady was something else... She won Olympic gold medals in track and field and may be the best female golfer of all time...pretty dominant in many sports...probably the best female athlete ever...and Papa allegedly had a fling with her back in the 1940's...
February 27, 201610 yr Mike Tyson. You could throw mayweather in there too. Tyson, maybe, but he had some bad competition. Must watch tv though. Floyd is skillful, but he beats guys in the equivalent of a pillow fight. When he wanted: Shaq. The was only about 1/3 of his career, but he is the most physically imposing dominate force I've watched. LeBron is similar, but his mentality has never been to be a dominating type player. It also comes down to how you define "dominate."
February 27, 201610 yr Mike Tyson. You could throw mayweather in there too. If we're going to mention those two, I'm going to throw in Sugar Ray Robinson. Started his career 40-0, was upset by Jake LaMotta, then won his next 88 bouts.
