In truth, given that the NCAA could conceivably give this team another year when their investigation is done, I don't think you can get rid of Pitino until you know what the NCAA is going to do. No way do you saddle another coach with this mess unless you have to.

 

I completely agree that you can't get rid of Pitino until you know what the NCAA is going to conclude going forward. I don't think the NCAA will add another post season ban to what UL self imposed, but until you know that as a fact, it's best to keep him around. It would be hard to get who you want as a coach if they have a post season ban and recruiting nightmare hanging over the program.

You still have Dayton to keep your spirits up. Well at least until this offseason when some power conference school swoops in and hires away Archie.

Any Dayton fan with a half pound of brains knows to appreciate the good years because they don't last forever. I'll definitely be sad to see Archie go, but if he gets a big time job, it'll be because of the special things he's done in the last few years at our little old Marianist school in southwest Ohio... and for that I'll be ever grateful.
