I love Coach Rick but for the good of U of L I think you are right.

This is the absolute truth! I'm a UK fan but Jones is terrible to listen to. And there are all kinds of skeletons in his closet from his past that a lot of people could share and keep quiet. Couldn't a guy like that ease up on Coach Rick?

Know a lot of folks that don't think highly of Pitino and Ramsay. I think your opinion of Jurich puts you in the great minority of folks.

I like the idea that was posted above about Pitino stepping down versus a postseason ban. Perhaps this would not placate the NCAA. However, what if Louisville announced that Pitino would not coach the rest of the season and that any revenue generated from postseason participation would be donated to a related cause like abused women or something similar?

 

That would hold Pitino accountable for the offenses that happened underneath his administration and would prevent the University from benefiting in any way financially but would not penalize this year's players who were not involved. I believe Pitino would actually get positive response if he took that action versus the way this was handled today

I don't think NCAA moves quickly enough that they would have done anything to sanction this current season.

UofL would have been a lot fairer to current players to announced they were sitting out next season. Allowing these kids that had ZERO to do with this to finish this year and play in ACC and NCAA tourneys and then be free to transfer at the end of the season.

 

Louisville is selling out current players to benefit future players because of past actions of others...:no: Sadly this is how all schools do it.

 

Completely sucks for this team.

 

A - with allegations of this nature, it is always going to be players who had nothing to do with it that get hammered

B - what Getslow said about NCAA not looking favorably on postponing punishment because you were having a good season

C - as a corollary, they are likely to get more credit for self-imposing postseason ban on a Top 20 trending toward Top 10 team than, say, Syracuse did for doing same on a bubble team.

I think its cowardly for Ramsey and Jurich to admit guilt like this when North Carolina has way more things going on and gets nothing from the NCAA.

 

On WHAS the announcers are saying things about Coach Rick when he was at Hawaii as an assistant coach and violations. What is that about?

Why is Ramsey bringing up Coach Rick's past at Hawaii? I don't get it. That is forty years ago and has nothing to do with this.

Sucks hearing about this and sucks for the players. I wish the NCAA could say no you can't self impose a ban this year. Make them wait until next season, and allow all players on the team to be able to transfer right away if they choose to. This way it is not hurting the current players, but only hurting the program.

I don't understand the post you quote as well. Isn't it like Patrick Towles. He was eligible to come back and play at UK but since he had gradutated he was also free to transfer to another school and play right away as well. :idunno:
