If the timeline is accurate, then this happened on the advice of Chuck Smrt, who knows what he's doing. If he actually did get something yesterday that confirmed to him that the NCAA believes Louisville to be in specific violation or that he believed revealed specific violation, then he'd tell Ramsey to get out front as quickly as possible.

February 5, 201610 yr UL knows that big sanctions would be coming based on what they have uncovered .......sacrifice players this year, knowing any tourney wins and cash would be forfeited anyhow ....... maybe save the Nat'l Championship from being vacated .......Pitino may very well be out ....... Ramsey definitely should be, and not because of this scandal but UL administration has had way too many scandals

UofL would have been a lot fairer to current players to announced they were sitting out next season. Allowing these kids that had ZERO to do with this to finish this year and play in ACC and NCAA tourneys and then be free to transfer at the end of the season. Louisville is selling out current players to benefit future players because of past actions of others...:no: Sadly this is how all schools do it. Completely sucks for this team.

Ramsey said Smrt decided the investigation revealed UofL was in violation of NCAA rules just yesterday. If so, then there was no waiting or calculating because the final report would include a timeline of when UofL became aware of certain things. Can't have the NCAA find out down the road that you knew something and didn't act. The university has a responsibility to act as information is discovered.
