I see both sides of it, but again, why take a shot at Lee & Lewis? They didn't break any rules.

Same. Mid-majors are in no way affected by this rule.

They could have announced a self imposed ban for next season out of fairness to current players that were not involved. I think everyone would agree that would have been fair, even the NCAA.

 

Maybe. But then the story is... oh look, Louisville's 18-4 and in second place in the ACC so they conveniently moved their postseason ban to into the great unknown of 13 months from now.

 

The NCAA might have seen it as protecting the great season at the expense of future possibilities.

I hate it for this year's Cardinal team, who were putting themselves in a good position to make a deep run in the NCAA.

 

I like to rag on some of the UL fans when they are riding high, but get no joy from kicking anyeone when they are down, so this takes some of the fun out of the rest of the season...

What about their coach's character who recruited them here while knowing about problems.

NCAA found no major violations with his recruitment, can't take a title without a proven violation.

 

Also NCAA can't strip titles they don't give out...NCAA has no purview over BCS, BCS would have to do it not the NCAA.

The National Championship isn't getting vacated, so you can get rid of that pipe dream.

 

I don't believe they will lose the banner either. But it does make one wonder whether it should be vacated or not. They just admitted to wrong doing that happened during that time frame and even punished themselves for it.

 

So basically the kids that were on the teams that commited violations get a pat on a back for bringing home a championship, while this years graduate transfers get thrown under the bus to try and save next season's recruiting. Pretty shady, though I wouldn't expect anything else out of Jurich and crew.

Honestly, Rick and Ramsey should have stepped down, and let these kids play.

Nobody knows exactly what has been found, therefore nobody knows exactly what they "admitted" to. Without that information, it is pure speculation on whether not anything should be vacated.
