I don't think they were going to get that option. It looks like you're trying to protect a good season and kick the punishment down the road. NCAA probably wouldn't like that.

Pretty sure the only way either Lee or Lewis could've played this year was to become a graduate transfer at another school. You can't gain an extra year of eligibility at your current school by becoming a graduate student. At least that's my understanding of it.

I think its cowardly for Ramsey and Jurich to admit guilt like this when North Carolina has way more things going on and gets nothing from the NCAA.

 

On WHAS the announcers are saying things about Coach Rick when he was at Hawaii as an assistant coach and violations. What is that about?

 

To punish a bunch of kids that did NOTHING, is wrong by all adult parties involved.

 

There's no way I could throw those kids under a bus, and keep my job, even if it's only 10 games.

Yep. There are enough well-connected big named guys out there that can't stand Matt Jones. If something was out there, they wouldn't hesitate to take him down.

But the concern is that then the NCAA sees the public report that Smrt has to prepare when the investigation is finished and they find out that UofL knew for certain on February 4 that they were in violation and they did nothing. They're getting out in front in hopes of reducing subsequent punishment from the NCAA. This isn't the end, it's trying to lessen the blow here at the beginning.

Watched a Matt Jones Periscope just now, he said one of the things that they were able to prove were the text messages and one thing in the book that couldn't be verified was the amount of money. He said he was also told by someone at UofL, that what has came out so far is about 60% of what has been found.

I was under the impression that they could still play, so long as they remain full time students, or else mid-major coaches wouldn't be in an uproar about it.

 

Towles is a good example. Alex Poythress could have done the same, I believe.

I think I said it earlier in this thread: they'll never pin down the money. It's all cash transfers between two completely untrustworthy people. The texts link them up and the interviews with former recruits confirm that it went on. That's enough to bury McGee and UofL.

This is the absolute truth! I'm a UK fan but Jones is terrible to listen to. And there are all kinds of skeletons in his closet from his past that a lot of people could share and keep quiet. Couldn't a guy like that ease up on Coach Rick?

What has he done in the past? Start a new thread and Spill it, drag is skeletons out into the light.
