February 5, 201610 yr If Pitino is gone like many speculate I hope he announces that today as well. I'm sure he won't but if he is gone he should go on and get that news out of the way as well. The season is over now anyways. Agreed. If he plans to leave after the season, just announce it now.

A true fan of any team worries about their own team, and doesn't concern themselves with what other teams are doing.

If I remember, the initial Powell story came out on a Friday afternoon. This will get even more buried than it, outside the Commonwealth. Damage control 101. Not hating on them, it makes sense to release it when they are.
February 5, 201610 yr As a UK fan I always like to get after my UofL friends, but this is sad. The players involved in this mess are long gone and the current players have done nothing wrong as far as I know. I would like to say that I do respect UofL for going the route and owning up to the mistake and self-imposing the penalty. UNC should take note about how to make the best of a bad situation. That gets to the general nature of big time college basketball coaches and their insulated environments which they are allowed to create.
