December 1, 201510 yr I quit reading after page 9 due to the redundancy of comments, so sorry if I missed it, but I think everyone is missing the big-picture point here: If you're a legit D1 talent, and Patrick most definitely was coming out of HHS, then GO TO A TRUE FOOTBALL SCHOOL with a proven track record and system. I've watched so many promising kids from KY get derailed in college by letting in-state loyalty cloud their judgment of what's truly best for their future. I love that they're all committed to where they came from, but IMO, that doesn't justify passing up better opportunities in established programs that will give you a better chance of success. Here is the only problem with that. We still have seen players who have went to UK get drafted and go pro. Which most of those players seem to come from another state. So here is the question why are players from out of state able to come to UK and do well enough to make it to the NFL still. When we have players from Ky who go to UK, who people feel like underachieve. Are we thinking to highly of the players that come from Ky?

What does that have to do with how the OLine impacted Towles' performance? I'm not saying that one QB is better than the other, or comparing talent. What I am saying is that a QB with a terrible offensive line is never going to reach full potential. Hence, a huge part of Towles problem was lack of protection.

Here is a list of UK players, from Kentucky who have been drafted in the NFL: Jeff Brady Terry Samuels Winston Guy Jared Lorenzen Tim Couch Marty Moore Jacob Tamme Doug Pelfry Craig Yeast Dennis Johnson Artose Pinner Chuck Bradley Todd Perry ?????? 14 home grown NFL players, most of them underachievers in some way, that went to UK and still made it in the NFL...the most important part of this list is that UK has never been a powerhouse / "winning" program and these guys still went there and made it.

Take the O-line (but they horrendous) and add this variable: receivers who can catch the ball. Go look at the INT's Towles threw and if you break them down I'll bet at least 1/3 of them were tip/no catch or missed routes. It's a combination of efforts to lose rather than any individual's ability....
