November 29, 201510 yr MAC conference is the answer......open up the field and throw 65 times a game....at least be a little fun to watch play....Ky football is boring right now, how about making the game entertaining for the ticket buyers!!!
November 29, 201510 yr People act like if UK got rid of Stoops or even some of the coordinators that better ones would come to UK. I don't understand that mindset. This isn't like UK basketball where you can fire Billy G and get Calipari. UK football isn't capable of firing-up. Then I don't know what they're going to do. I'm worried that after fiascos like yesterday, and actually the last part of the season, recruits of any quality are going to give UK the slightest consideration. However, I do agree that Kentucky is not the most appealing of coaching jobs in the country. It's like a dead-end job, a career killer. Even if UK got rid of Stoops, how appealing is he going to be as a future head coach for another program. He probably could find a job as an assistant, but that's about it. Same thing with Joker. So, coaches with any aspirations in major college football are not going to be knocking down the doors to become head coach at Kentucky.

Les Miles aint walking through that door.

So, coaches with any aspirations in major college football are not going to be knocking down the doors to become head coach at Kentucky. People need to be more realistic and patient. That's what is needed to be done. If we all know UK is a crap football job(which it is) and if there is a first time head coach there who is doing an pretty good job recruiting(Stoops) then the fans are going to have to give that man a learning curve. Seriously. Rich Brooks was allowed time to suck horribly and then he got it turned around and he had decades of experience coaching. This is UK Football. Not LSU. Not Auburn. Not Ohio State. UK Football. Let that man figure stuff out with his staff, his players and his bosses. UK Football is (Smokey voice) NEVER........EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER gonna win the SEC. Best case scenario is they win the SEC East but even that is a stretch. 13/22 starters are freshmen or sophomores??? That never is a recipe for success in the SEC and that offensive line play is never a recipe for success in the SEC either. I get that people would have liked to see the team improve as the season went on but when over half your team is still learning how to play Big Boy football I don't know why people's expectations aren't lowered. Change isn't going to happen overnight. Patience is required in this situation.
November 29, 201510 yr I do think Stoops just needs to run the Defense as the Head Coach. Hire a Special Teams Coach. They may need a new WR Coach, and either commit to the Air Raid (Because they have not so far) or move in another direction with the Offense. Then instill some serious discipline starting now and find a way to stop the read option QB run.
November 29, 201510 yr 1. I am not sure if it is not the trend in college football or not but or PR sake I believe we have to hire a special teams coach. Just too many breakdowns this season in the special teams game 2. I think Stoops needs an experienced "ear" on the sidelines. Elliott and Dawson (as well as Stoops) are first time coaches. I think Stoops needs someone on the sidelines to suggest and reassure his decisions to grow as a head coach. 3. As much as I hate three different OC in three years I think Dawson must go. Come to find out he didnt even really call the plays at WVU. Its too big a job for three first time coaches. Neal Brown was miles ahead of Dawson in hindsight. 4. Find some offensive identity. I am not sure that we can run the ball in the SEC and win. Run some but I think we just cannot recruit big enough OL and DL players to play smash mouth football and I think Stoops wants to do that. We have to throw the ball around 5. Baker talks way too much and has not proven on the field he can back it up. I say Stoops has a honest discussion with him and let him find a place somewhere else. 6. Wifi in the stadium, come on UK lets update this. Its silly not to have it 7. Continue the pre-game concerts. 8. Promote the good kids more. We have barely heard about the awards that Landon Foster is up for. He is a finalist for the Weurfell Trophy as well as Captain of the ESPN All State Award. Additionally a 4.0 double major. He is the perfect representative for the University and you barely hear about it. 9. The concession stands need ALOT of work. The lines are terribly slow and the food is average at best. More places for pizza and more kiosks for just cokes.
November 29, 201510 yr After hearing Forrest's comments after the game it's painfully obvious that the UK coaching staff is amazingly unprepared and unorganized.
November 29, 201510 yr 9. The concession stands need ALOT of work. The lines are terribly slow and the food is average at best. More places for pizza and more kiosks for just cokes. They should have kiosks set up just for the Commonwealth Stadium Starter: Coke, heavy on the ice. Imagine how much pressure that would relieve at the concession lines.
November 29, 201510 yr 6. Wifi in the stadium, come on UK lets update this. Its silly not to have it I'd just like to get a cell signal there.
November 29, 201510 yr Rich Brooks was 4-8, 2-9, 3-8 in his first three seasons at UK. He took over a program ravaged by probation. He finished 8-5, 8-5, 7-6, and 7-6 over his final four. Stoops has begun 2-10, 5-7, and 5-7. Took over a program ravaged by Joker's ineptness as a head coach. Firing Stoops now sets the program back. However, Two differences. Brooks was an experienced head coach who brought in experienced coordinators. Stoops was not and really has not. Stoops hasn't poached other programs of well-regarded coordinators. I think Stoops and staff is more concerned with the number of stars next to a recruit's name than the intangibles. How many stars did Derek Abney, Craig Yeast, and Dicky Lyons have next to their name coming out of high school? How many of us would trade every receiver UK has for these three? There has to be consequences for failure to produce. I don't care how many stars Dorian Baker has next to his name. If you can't catch simple passes, you don't play. Also, two quarterbacks = no quarterback. You almost have to question if Towles and Barker are SEC level quarterbacks. Again, remember the stars coming out of high school? How many five star players has Stoops gotten commitments and LOIs from that have never stepped on the field for whatever reason? UKs recruiters need to learn to dig deeper than the stars or else 5-7 will be the norm at UK
November 29, 201510 yr 9. The concession stands need ALOT of work. The lines are terribly slow and the food is average at best. More places for pizza and more kiosks for just cokes. This wasn't part of the renovations?
November 29, 201510 yr Norm Chow was recently fired by Hawaii, what would UK have to pay to get him as an OC? Probably a pipe dream but a UK fan can dream.
November 29, 201510 yr The University has made a major commitment to move the football program to the next level, we need a coach capable of leading that transition, it concerns me that there were too many times that the players and coaches were totally confused as to what was going on, these are mental mistakes and are unacceptable! At some point there was also a divide in the locker room, we can talk about poor O lines, pass drops, who the quarterback should be, but at this point I have to question Stoops leadership abilities! Having said that I believe Stoops should be given at least one more year!
November 29, 201510 yr Is Dawson the QB Coach also? Is that normal at the big time schools to have a QB Coach and OC or is the OC usually the QB Coach?
