May 22, 201511 yr The D's are taking a risk if that's their candidate. I think another candidate could win the vote easily again and keep a D in office another term. Huge risk trotting this out as your candidate. Just sayin'. This is a good point. Her being the Democratic nominee may give the Republicans their best shot at winning back the White House.

May 22, 201511 yr Can anyone think of anything Hillary has accomplished for the good of the nation.. If she keeps a Republican from winning, that will be the greatest service I can imagine. I'll take that back if you can find me a Republican that does not pledge to undo the affordable care act. Most of the rest of what the Republicans think passes for public policy would do harm, but the harm wouldn't be permanent. It took generations to get the ACA. If the next President undoes it, it will take several more generations to get it back. I am not a big fan of Mrs. Clinton, but I'll vote for her if it will keep the GOP out of the White House.
May 22, 201511 yr The ACA will undo itself and the D candidate, it doesn't need a R to do it. 2016 is going to be a nightmare for anyone campaigning on supporting it right as the next set of regulations hit and the different deferments expire. UGLY.

Not many folks can think of anything, so you are not alone...
May 22, 201511 yr So that is a no answer to my question.. Not many folks can think of anything, so you are not alone... You raise an interesting question even if it is not particular to HRC. The questions seems to give us evidence as to why we see more governors than senators end up in the WH.
May 22, 201511 yr So that is a no answer to my question.. Not many folks can think of anything, so you are not alone... I think you can say this about many, if not most candidates. Accomplishments are also dependent on which side of the aisle you reside on as well. An "accomplishment" by a Dem is likely to be called a mistake by a Republican, and vice versa. For example, HRC helped lay some groundwork for the ACA...most Republicans wouldn't call this an accomplishment. I could list a few things she's worked on and been involved with, especially on social issues, but I know that wouldn't be good enough for most any Republican because for the most part, they strongly disagree with her politics. And the fact the both sides rarely work together on anything anymore, makes this argument for the most part useless. And believe me, this is an issue for both sides.
May 22, 201511 yr You won't catch me voting for a Dem Or Rep. They have shown they are not the answer.
May 22, 201511 yr Wonder if Trinity alum votes straight ticket ? LOL . At least he /she is honest about it .

May 23, 201511 yr 102 posts in - safe to say about the only reason anyone is voting for Hillary is that she is not a republican. Basically, nobody has come up with any concrete reasons why they would vote for her (such as: character, charisma, accomplishments, hard work, intelligence, ability to work across the aisle, etc).

Sadly, I'm afraid you may be correct.

Naysayers said same about Reagan in '80: too old to be an effective president, hadn't done a lot for America, just a washed-up actor who used to be a union boss, on and on.
