April 3, 201511 yr Knight was downing coffee during the pregame while Fran and Wischusin were gabbing. It was odd.
April 3, 201511 yr Great coach..........his views on UK are skewed, stagnant, and .............irrelevent..........If you can get past his hatred for UK, you can appreciate his legacy in college basketball............which is pretty darn impressive
April 3, 201511 yr Everyone sing-a-long ....."Happy Days are Here Again ..." Of course there may be a problem - who the hell is going to tell us how important the "shot fake" is and do so over and over and over and over :banghead:.. ?
April 3, 201511 yr It's hard to remember now, but I think he was decent at it in the early days. But time caught up with him fast. It's the same thing that's robbing us of many of the most legendary announcers that are hanging on too long. Verne Lundquist immediately comes to mind.

April 3, 201511 yr I've always had mixed emotions about Coach Knight. He's obviously one of the greatest coaches of all time, and I gained new found respect for him after reading "A Season on the Brink" back in the day. He obviously was a no nonsense type of guy that cared about his players, and was sick of the hypocrisy that is the NCAA. His temper and his hatred for Kentucky were obviously a turn off for me. I will miss hearing his great basketball knowledge.
April 3, 201511 yr Watched some of the second half of NIT and it was painful watching him! It was also funny how he still did not know how long the shot clock is and the other announcers had to jump in to tell him. He was a great X and O's coach, but comes across as a misserable person IMO, and glad he will be gone!

I need to look for it,I'd like to reread it.

April 3, 201511 yr Maybe since the Final Four is in Indiana, someone will throw a chair across the court as a tribute to him.
April 3, 201511 yr Now, if we could only get rid of biased Shane Battier this would be a productive week. Pretty sure I heard him say Duke was winning the NBA title this year...
April 3, 201511 yr Always wish ESPN would have used him in a way like they used gruden on his qb school, class type shows, Bob is a great coach, and very misunderstood by most. UK fans hate him due to the fact he has an opinion that is unlike yours. Put knight in a blue sweater all those years instead of a red, and ESPN would have got burnt down with this news.

Misunderstood? Really, we are going that route? Dude is a basketball genius, nobody denies that. I am sure ESPN would have loved to utilize him more. The fact is he was horrible at his commentating job.

Bobby hates UK, UK hates Bobby, not a tough story to follow.
