Most of the time he didn't even know what was going on, how much time was left, or who was winning. He was an embarrasment.

A lot of folks on here are bashing Coach Knight and that is really unfortunate! I still think " He was the Best Damn Chair Throwing Coach in the Country ". . .

 

I am really glad that he is off the air, always made it a point to show his bad side all the time. He singlehandedly is why I really don't care for IU and want to beat them very bad at any sport!!!! It is sad, but College Basketball is better now that he is OFF the air!!!!

Misunderstood? Really, we are going that route? Dude is a basketball genius, nobody denies that. I am sure ESPN would have loved to utilize him more. The fact is he was horrible at his commentating job.

One thing about Bob Knight, when he spoke you were going to get both barrels and what ever he said would not be sugar coated. Any body want to compare Knight and Crean, didn,t think so. There is NO comparison. I respect Bobby as a coach and person, and you can't hold the hatred against him. Everybody hates something or some one.

 

As a commentater, I have seen and heard a lot worse and more better. I kept waiting for him to explode "on the air" but it didn't happen.

I'm sure that he was quoted very often, but my favorite was,"when I die I want to be buried face down so all my critics can kiss my butt." :lol:

Bobby hates UK, UK hates Bobby, not a tough story to follow.

 

A lot of that going on in any sport. Rivals hate each other. Duke-North Carolina, X and UC, no big surprise.

It was painful to listen to him the last couple of years. Before that he had more insight and less cluelessness and was at least tolerable. I am glad he is gone as I don't know if he really wanted to be there anymore.
