The answer is yes, Austin Hergott is a Fort Thomas native. Father and mother attended Highlands. Older brother graduated from Highlands. Has lived in Fort Thomas for as long as I can remember, maybe his whole life.

Yes, Cov Cath lost to Beechwood this year. I didn't bring that into question. I was just asking if Austin Hergott was a Ft. Thomas resident or not, since it would seem like playing quarterback for your local-legend-caliber uncle wouldn't necessarily be an un-desirable thing to do. If Austin is a Ft. Thomas native, then it makes all the sense in the world that he'd be a Bluebird. If you feel the need to turn that into a dig at Cov Cath, well, that's your prerogative I suppose. I think the record would show pretty clearly that I respect Beechwood's and Highlands' football teams both. If you want to turn that into something else, then have at it.

 

For what it's worth, I'm pretty confident that saying "no one wants to play for Cov Cath" is pretty inaccurate, and is a pretty far stretch from having anything to do with what I posted, but whatever makes you happy...

CWB, I think you know that comments like these are very far and few between and do not represent the Highlands camp.

Are we back in the 1980's? No Cincy teams on the schedule and Simon Kenton, Dixie, Campbell County and Boone County ON the schedule??? I originally did not like the schedule when I first saw it but it will be nice playing a bunch of NKY schools for a change...the schedule is growing on me...

Bahahahaha you are so far off with your rationale, that's is funny. Did you read what you typed before you posted? Do you know where his parents went to school? Do you know where his older brother went to school? Do you know where they grew up? Funny stuff right there my friend.

 

I guess my question is why do you think Beechwood's recent success or lack there of against Mayfield have caused some to not attend school there? Oh my, tons of questions.

Highlands needed 2 years of playing Florida schools to get ready for the Pioneers!

I think it is a good schedule for the overall talent they have coming back. No sense brutalizing your team with multiple GCL opponents when at the end of the day your goal is to win a state championship.

 

The Birds will be challenged by many of the NKY teams this season but you just never know with Highlands. They will sometimes be questioned and then boom.....they are blowing teams out by halftime.

I like the schedule.

I just hope Highlands can win a game next year. All of the doom and gloom is rather comical to say the least. Do they not have 3 offensive lineman returning next year? a running back who saw quality minutes? a corp of receivers that saw significant playing time? Certainly a good base to build from.
