Dallas 24 Detroit 20

Featured Replies

Okay, so it was a missed call. There's a missed call on at least 75% of all plays in every game. Didn't cost Detroit the game.

Yes, it absolutely changed the outcome of the game significantly. At the very least, they were headed for a field goal on that possession. Not to mention, they allowed Dez Bryant to run off the bench with his helmet off. That alone should have been 15 yards and a first down. Say what you want, but the Lions got hosed.

Former Super Bowl official said the flag should never have been thrown. However he said picking it up is tough to justify.

He also said Dez should not have been penalized since he got off the field when instructed to bu the official.

What is scary is that Pereira (Fox guy - former head of officials) and Gerry Austin (ref Clyde is referring to) both looked at the play many times from numerous angles and came to TOTALLY DIFFERENT conclusions.

You can say a lot of things but there is NO DOUBT that the play in question had a MAJOR impact on the outcome of the game. I am not saying that the play decided the game but if the pass interference is called, everything from then on is totally different.

They didn't miss the call. They threw the flag, announced the penalty and then reversed it. I've never seen that happen.

Exactly, I have no problem if they even miss the call, call it interference on Pettigrew or off setting. But don't make the call, announce it over the mic, have the teams moving downfield to spot the ball where the infraction was made and then pick up the flag with a helmet-less Bryant on the field going nuts. I know there are no fixes in sports(or at least hope not), but if your a Detroit fan that would seem like someone important said 'hey lets not let them have an opportunity to get too far ahead' we want the best chance for Packers/Cowboys, because who cares about Panthers/Packers? If I'm a Cowboy fan, I don't want to win that way. But now on the flipside, Caldwell should have went for it on 4th and 1, the punter completely shanks one when he could have easily pinned the Cowboys inside the 10. Destiny or luck for the 'boys, guess we will find out next week.

Agreed

For all of you saying 1 call can't determine a game , you must not remember how Ohio St., with the help of an old man, stole a title from the U

Regardless if it was a bad call or not, regardless if the flag should not have been waved off or not after the penalty was announced, it did not cause the lions to loose. There are many missed calls during any game, the Lions had their chances and blew it, period.

How good is the Dallas offensive line? I know they gave up 6 sacks, but most of those were coverage sacks. Mad props. Also, how they've remained solid on defense with their injury problems is amazing.

Anyways, on to Green Bay. Congrats to the Cowboys on their second playoff victory in 17 seasons. :D

But its 1 MORE THAN THE BENGALS

But its 1 MORE THAN THE BENGALS

2 more actually. Thankfully I am not a Bengal fan!

That's what the official said.

My response was more aimed at the official and not you Clyde. :thumb:
