I am calling a Gray/Woodland final in 8th Grade.

Yes they did.....I love Woodland, great team. But I really didn't see anyone beating Campbell.......Woodland held off a fierce come back attempt by Camp. At one point in 3rd quarter Wood was up 16 points.

I would agree with Qryche 11 on this one, but an upset by St. Pius tonight would not surprise me. I think Twenhofel's road to the finals ends tonight, too much size for Woodland. Woodland against Gray or St. Pius in the finals will be interesting. There's been some interesting upsets in this tourney.

So Woodland beat Campbell Co in 8th Grade action?

 

Yes. Woodlawn's Coach's game plan to completly outplay Campbell's gaurds, and to control the paint with post players hit Campbell's coach by suprise, and by the time they realized it the game was over.

7th grade action SPX beats Conner by 3 in OT.

 

Great year of basketball, it is amazing how good these kids play now a days.

Summit View knocks off Highlands in OT (7th grade)

Summit View over Highlands 7th grade. Physical game and very well played sportsmanship wise.

6th grade Highlands beat Turkeyfoot by 20 something. Close game for most of the first half. So it will be IHM vs Highlands in the 6th grade final.

Highlands, Pius, Gray as favorites 6th,7th, 8th respectively. Bound to be an upset in there somewhere?

Summit View knocks off Highlands in OT (7th grade)

 

I just enjoy seeing good basketball. Hate seeing both of my boys go down this year but they both did well.

 

I like hearing about the other teams, I wish we had a rep from each team report in...how neat that would be.

 

I'm picking IHM with the upset of HMS. The two bigs for IHM pass the ball well and can handle the ball too.

 

The SPX vs Woodland game may be one for the ages, lots of good players will be on the court.

 

Lastly, for all the defense guys both IHM and Conner played man 90% of the game. It was fun to watch a game with minimal zone defense.

Boy's finals will be Saturday at 10:15 (6th); 12:45 (7th); and 3:30 (8th). Girls finals in between.
