Ahh, yes. My apologies. Michael is the name. :ohbrother: Both of those boys are pretty darn good! I'm sure AJ had one in his day :)

Nice job by Summit View players and coach D. Put Pius on their heels early on by whipping their Diamond press.

Pius press had victimized many opponents all year. Big early lead too much to overcome. Not sure if he made all tourney, but #30 for SV did nice job at PG. Well coached, well played Jags. Congrats!

Pius boys keep your heads up, stay dedicated and you can bookend that 6th grade title with 8th next year.

Beechwood 6th just beat IHM in the first round of the St Agnes Tournament by 15pts. I believe Beechwood plays Oak Hills in the next round next Saturday.. Great Job Tigers!!!

I believe Gray Middle won the 8th Grade final over Woodland.

The 6th grade has to be wrong.

Based upon the results of the small school season schedule, maybe they aren't letting BW play. :isurrender:

Would be fine by me..

St. Pius 6th over Guardian Angels tonight 50-44 in the first round of the St. Agnes tourney. Fun, up and down the court game. Saw Turners 8th Grade team beat Our Lady of Victory in the game before by about 10. Houston from Woodland looked really strong.

Bracken Co. will probably be closed for a week with all of the snow coming..lol

Summit View 7th grade boys defeat St. Pius in the championship game. Great game between 2 really good teams! Congrats to both teams on a great season!

All tournament team for SVMS:

Nick Brann

Evan Dearborn

Jeremy Davis

All tournament for Pius:

AJ Maher

N. Powers

That's crazy. I would have never predicted that SV would have won it all at the beginning of the tournament. Highlands had beaten them by 13+ on 4 different occasions this year. They really battled and rode momentum. Congragts to them.

Your post is slightly incorrect... Not sure about 3 games (all around 10 or slightly more), but I know the game at Summit View, Highlands only won by 2, after SVMS missed several free throws late that could have tied it, or even propelled them to a win. But, to your point, still 4 losses.

IMO, it's not that shocking in that Summit is certainly one of the top 4 teams in the league (Pius, Conner, Highlands being the other 3). I believe Summit had 23 or 24 wins. Those young men put it all together at the right time. Nice back to back wins beating Highlands and Pius in consecutive games.

Should be fun to watch and follow those 4 teams throughout their 8th grade season.

I forgot about the game at SV. You are correct. It was the 2 in the Dayton tournament and the one at Highlands. SV was #4 heading into Thursday night and #1 walking out on Saturday bc the whole team plays their role and they play very hard. Not a huge fan of their coach but really respect them as a group. They definitely earned it.
