Blessed Sacrament has a very talented 6th grade class. The combined win/loss record for the three teams is 34-5 and four of the five losses came from each other. I understand there is talk of 2 A teams and 1 B team. I agree next year it will be interesting to see how they come together.

Sounds like there could be some good matchups within Ft.Mitchell next couple years. BSS v. Beechwood. Just curious, do these schools play each other very often? I know they're not in same leagues. Will they schedule some non-league matchups, or do they avoid each other?

If I was a betting man I would bet they will play each other at some point next year..

They certainly have the talent to pull that plan off.

Are they looking at playing in the public school league as does Pius, IHM and others? Got to play the better teams in the area to see where they truly are and to get better.

Have to be careful b/c I'm not in the know re: Blessed Sacrament, but it would be tough for them to play in the PSL without a Gym suitable for game play, unless they can rent a facility.

I think that for a school to play in the NKYMSL, they have to field 6 teams and their gym facility has to have locker rooms.

BSS last played in NKMSL four years ago when CVH was a 6th grader (they won region BTW). At that time, I believe they played their games at SOAS. For sure, need to have 6 teams from each school to participate in league.

Yes I recall those days when they rented that place for their league games. That is what I was wondering if they were thinking about going back to.

Just a thought, It may be to Beechwood's best interest for BSS to rejoin. In that case, Beechwood could petition to move up to large school division, thereby keeping even number teams.

Beechwood 6th beat Guardian Angel by 11pts tonight in the St. Agnes Tournament. It looks like St.Agnes will not work with Beechwood again! Beechwood 6th is going to have to forfeit their game on Saturday because of the Small School Middle Championship game. They are scheduled to play Bracken Co. at 9:15am at Sharp. The St.Agnes Tournament game with Victory is scheduled for that morning also and they won't switch the time. This is a bunch of garbage if you ask me! If I was Beechwood this would be the last time I played in that tournament.

I don't know if it's different for girls, but I'm pretty sure Holmes did not have a 6th girls team, but the other 5 teams were allowed to partake in the NKMSAA league.

Sorry to hear this. As a St.Pius 6th follower, was looking forward to the matchup. Sounds like your good team had a tough year (not with opponents) with the schedule makers.

Beechwood 6th has had a great year so far. Hopefully they can top it off tomorrow morning with the Small School Championship. They played most of the large school teams such as Highlands, Conner, IHM, Gray, Campbell Co. and Summit View. It would of been nice to of played Turkeyfoot, Woodland and St.Pius also. Beechwood 6th also played in the St.Ignatius Tournament with a lot of very good teams and won that. Luckily for the kids the coach went out and tried to play some tournaments so the boys could be challenged..Hopefully next year the people who make the decisions in the middle school league will allow them to play in the large school divison.
