  1. Nice job there I could read this all day .......how about giving us another 15 to make it a top 30.
  2. Jared Coomer- Barren County has to be on this list
  3. How many go to Ryle/Cooper/SK etc to specifically play football? How many go to Trinity to specifically play football? Just curious.
  4. This is a great thread and it has made me wonder something, how many of these kids really "LOVE" football? If not for Parents making them play, how many would actually play? Just curious what some of your thoughts on that are. From my experience I would guess that 75% play because daddy makes them. Thoughts? And when I see how some parents "Party" on Friday night, that only leads me to this type of thoughts. Perhaps this belongs in another topic.
  5. Where do you find this list?
  6. This situation just like in real life....It pays to have Connections.......The kid is a good player, more power to him. If the others wanna play Freshman/JV/Varsity as 8th graders then their parents need to go to school tomorrow and register an opinion.
  7. So sorry big fella Carlosknows1......didn't mean to hit on a touchy subject.
  8. Who in the heck runs the Scott County School System....I'd like to offer them a position in Boone County Schools.....we'd love to combine all of our Middle School and High School athlete's into one football and basketball team. Instead we have them spread out at 4 High Schools. NO OPEN ENROLLMENT either. Please keep that in mind the next time you beat our buts........Lol
  9. Some pretty good stuff from back in the day Finals are at Simon Kenton I was told Yesterday
  10. What year was that? And did they win regional here?
  11. Yes they did.....I love Woodland, great team. But I really didn't see anyone beating Campbell.......Woodland held off a fierce come back attempt by Camp. At one point in 3rd quarter Wood was up 16 points.
  12. On the subject of officiating....I witnessed my first "FLOP" foul get called in a game last night......FINALLY.
  13. OMG, that is hilarious............I actually did the math....Born 11/6/2015 would make your son one of the older players for the class of 2033 unless of course you hold him back.
  14. This is really cool....Who puts this list together? Northern KY not a single kid from there mentioned.
  15. Well don't take my comments the wrong way. Darn near everything you say in regards to basketball and the fundamental's are spot on.....If you coached at a middle school my hats off to you. I think its a totally different world than AAU. Hopefully your still coaching somewhere.
  16. I'm ready to stir the pot..... Take a couple of weaker teams from Large School, trade places in Tourny with a couple stronger teams in the small school....... Hmmmmmmmmmmm No chance because of the logistics perhaps...........
  17. Hate it, hate it, hate it......But unless you go out and coach a team go a little easier in regards to the coaches who are currently out there. I've never claimed to be a great coach, but when I applied for the job a few years back there was NO ONE ELSE IN LINE, I do it because I love the kids and have fun, certainly not for the $$........My team has played man to man pretty much all season until a few weeks back. Had to switch because we were getting killed every game....Now since we switch up defenses we have been able to compete a little better and even win a couple of games. Some of you sound like you would be great coaches, I've mentioned this before: Your invited to come help me anytime. I'd welcome anyone who has knowledge to share.
  18. Their coach is a fine young man....But I would call that the TY HOUSTON factor! He is a BEAST.
  19. Saw my first Middle School player dunk in a GAME last night....Wow...it was awesome.......Unreal the hops that kid has.....
  20. Watched a BORING game last night.....2-3 ZONE defense by the losing team from the tip until the last 2 minutes of the game......still lost by double digits so my question is WHY a zone the entire game?? I asked for my money back but the AD laughed and said no way...........ZONE ZONE ZONE........
  21. Ok....since were talking hold backs....GRAY 8th grade has no holdbacks...NONE....How about the other teams you mention as being top teams...........How many holdbacks are out there? A bunch.
  22. Look at all of the AAU big time winning teams...A bunch of NOTHINGS......older kids playing DOWN....Pathetic. And those parents who sit in the stands and cheer for their 13 year old son scoring on an 11 year old.......
  23. Its about time.....11 year olds playing against 13 year olds..............
  24. Wow.....that was quite the rant. You sound like maybe a parent of a middle school player who doesn't appreciate his coach. Lol Your message looks just like one of my practice plans......I agree with just about everything single thing you said. In a lot of cases the coaches are teachers who do it for the extra cash and don't know basketball. And you probably already know that most of these schools could care less about basketball so you get what you get for coaches. The ones who get lucky and have an AAU coach who has been with the kids for a couple of years are the teams that generally win most of the time. Take all of the good teams in any grade.......Just pick 1. In most if not all cases....Lots of AAU experience. Great topic!!!!! All I can say is for you to make time and go get a coaching job. You certainly talk the game. But talk is cheap. Action speaks volumes......... There are a few really good coaches out there that make a difference but really not mant. I am an average coach at best. Your invited to my practice anytime. I could certainly use the help. I work 50 hours a week on my normal job and I make time to be at practice and games.
