Will Patrick Towles play Pro Football?

Featured Replies

Will he get draft, maybe/probably. Will he have a long career in the NFL as anything more then a back up, not likely. As a matter of fact it's a safer bet that he plays less than a few years as a back up before moving on to something else.

Going by odds, the safest bet is that he goes undrafted and is signed as a undrafted free agent.

I am torn on this. I have watched him periodically and what I see is someone who is capable of playing smart, can see the field well most of the time, and has a great arm. But elite? No. His consistency is concerning. I think he'll get a shot at it, but not sure that he will pan out.

NFL size - check

NFL arm - check

NFL mobility - check

NFL maturity/leadership - check

NFL release - TBD

NFL decision making - TBD

Those last two are huge TBDs, the good news is for Towles is he as a lot more games to improve and get better.

I also remember Andre Woodson being a projected first rounder. When was he drafted, 6th round? Tough to make it to the league.

Towles will go to the NFL, he's a sophomore out-playing Heisman candidates. He is a leader and his height helps him. He will be a 3rd round QB. He will see an NFL field.

Which ones? If you are outplaying Heisman candidates wouldn't you be one?

I think he's referring strictly to the Miss St game.

Settle down.

Two points for completely disguising your opinion as a series of declarative statements.

Ole Miss Senior QB Bo Wallace's stats against LSU: 14-33 176 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. 91 QBR, Wallace's lowest of the season. With all that said, Wallace also made quite a few bad decisions last night. All I'm saying is that the best way to judge Towles as a sophomore might not be against a VERY good LSU pass defense.

Why? You should be evaluated against the best. LSU is an outstanding college defense, but every NFL defense is much, much better than any college football team. Now, I do understand PT may not have any NFL offensive players with him. Just too hard to equate anything in college to the NFL except individual matchups and understanding the concepts of the NFL.

Is he thinking about transferring?

I forgot about the other part of the equation. I'd like to know the average wins for players invited to the presention.

Why? If Johnson were to come in 2017 - he red shirts' date=' then sits a year. Barker starts '17 & '18. Johnson still has three years of eligibitlity. Johnson, would probably be looking at the same scenario almost anywhere he goes.[/quote']

The number 1 QB in the country doesn't sit long if at all.

According to people much smarter than any of us, Towles is the #1 QB prospect in the SEC.

Towles has the foundation and tools to develop into a top qb over the next two plus seasons. That being said, does anyone remember a couple of fellas named Norton and Couch? I seem to remember some rosy forecasts for NFL stardom for those guys.
