Will Patrick Towles play Pro Football?

Featured Replies

I have zero doubt he'll be in a camp next summer.

That would be awesome but I thought he had another year of eligibility?

Hempel? No. 4th year at Harvard.

To be fair' date=' MSU is dead last in passing yards given up.[/quote']

Almost last in the nation. 116/124.

Right. To be clear he was great in that game but just because MSU is #1 in the country doesn't mean they have a great D. It's a team you build your stats up on so that when you play a Mizzou D it evens out.

Seemed gun shy to throw the ball late in the game...it appeared as if he was in run first mode.

I like Towles but he's not ready or close to be thinking about the next level.

Does Drew Barker become QB1 if Towels keeps playing like this?

Fixed that for myself!

The first half of the season I thought for sure he could. Looked mature and screamed winner to me. Like he had so much heart but today's game I don't know now.

He got worse throughout the season. I remember woodsen as a junior seemed to get better the more he played. When you have a guy that starts every game and you shrink the playbook throughout the year...may be time to put him on the sideline

I believe the shrinking of the playbook had very little to do with Towles.

The physical tools are there.

I have a concern as I watched Patrick in the last few games with his quick processing of what he is reading on the field. He has reverted back to some typical high school quarterback's bad habits of not fundamentally setting up and throwing from the pocket, but rather, watching the rush approaching him and taking off (often to the left, opposite his right throwing arm and not getting the ball out.

In this offense, success comes with 1-2-3....ball out......1-2-3....ball out.

He better get back to the basics in the off-season. Another dose of George Whitfield?

No.

If UK gets a new OC next year, will he even play at UK next season?

That's my concern, look at his 36 sacks vs a Blake Sims 8. Sure the O-line needs work but so does PT which is exactly why at the start of the thread many said it was way too early for this conversation. He has lots of the tools but still needs a lot of work. I have zero doubt he'll put in the effort.

Who? PT? Why wouldn't he be at UK?
