theguru Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 First on the pass to Dalton, the DB should have cut Dalton in two. Second not sitting on the ball with 50 seconds left and turning it over. Sooner or later that kind of play calling is going to bite us.

However no problem with them trying for something before half. A screen is usually a safe call and definitely dont expect a pick. Bad pass by dalton. Also that is usually marvins call if they take a knee and go into half or not. I like aggresive marvin much bettrr than always conservative marvin.
TheDeuce Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 The Dalton play was extremely stupid. The Bengals lucked out on that one... Probably should have been a pick six, and after that, the DB should have destroyed Dalton.
swamprat Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Darrell Bevell is reckless. Same play with Russel Wilson.
98NCCalum Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Was the play call reckless or was the pass? I don't really remember the view Sanu had but should he have seen that developing and eaten the loss on the play rather than not throwing it?
98NCCalum Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I agree, I thought Dalton was going to be demolished when I saw it live.
MJAlltheWay24 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Don't take the fun out of it guru haha.
Wireman Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 The Bengals are very lucky. Dalton could've (should've) been destroyed on that play.
frankdracman23 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 The screen pass was as safe as can be. If Dalton doesn't throw it behind him it is a big gain. If he throws it any worse it is just incomplete. He just happened to throw it behind him enough for him to get a hand on it. Sanu said he thought "Oh No" when he threw the pass. But the DB could not really destroy Dalton because he would have been a defenseless receiver. But he should have picked it off and had clear sailing.
reds1921 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Don't take the fun out of it guru haha. Seriously.. This is the first year I can remember actually enjoying watching the Bengals play. Probably the most complete team in the NFL right now and people still find something to complain about. Enjoy it.
Bengal Maniac Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 They had to do something different in the red zone. Really Sanu should have recognized and thrown it away, but he ain't a QB. The screen that was picked was set up great, just a bad throw by Dalton. They really have defenses on their heels. They are making people eventually play them straight up. He calls plays like Arians. He is unpredictable and that is good.
Habib Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I love his play calling. No problem with the trick play there. I ripped Bratkwoski for his run-run-screen offense and I'm not going to start doing the same to a guy who is opening up the playbook and doing so successfully.
Qryche11 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 The DB made a horrible play there, looked like he wussed out. Either go for the ball or light up Dalton. He Did neither.
D-Rob Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 He has all these toys to play with. Sanu's arm, 2 good running backs, the best receiver in the league, etc... I don't mind his play calling at all. He knows he has a great defense with him.
