Why has the NICS system not been expanded to include gun dealers, even if it's only access to limited sets of information (like who is/isn't something as general as 'flagged')?

 

I ask because I'm genuinely curious and isn't really something that I'm very familiar with.

 

Gun dealers DO use NICS, if you have a FFL you HAVE to use Nics. ATF randomly audits gun sales for compliance.

There is gun show 5 or 6 times a year at the local "Civic Center" and every gun sold inside the gun show is only sold after a NICS check or with a current active Concealed Carry Permit.

One area that could be addressed is for personal sales. If I sell you a firearm there isn't a system in place for me to verify your not a convicted felon as individuals can't call NICS to perform a background check.

No, but I think this is a little different from that.

I am typically pro-gun law. However, I think the new Georgia law was beyond stupid.

Shirt I saw in Texas. I'm still not really sure if the person was being ironic, sacrilegious, or really wanted to know because it'd been debated once in their Sunday school class and the argument never really got settled. People in Texas love their church like they love their guns.
