Why does everyone just assume he is transferring because of athletics?

I understand limiting transfers and having rules in place. But in the end, who is hurt by this move? Who's to say Cov Cath isn't a better situation for this student athlete? In the end, sports are just a game. Some kids are good enough that sports can pave the way into an education. For others, they are just an activity that can help build life skills, and friendships. Preventing a transfer from playing helps no one. Sometimes I just think we take sports a little too seriously.

 

Maybe. But not all parents have the ability or desire to allow their kid to transfer. Transfering requires parents to either move closer or provide daily transportation ( until at least the kid can drive). Plus there's the tuition aspect. So while you might see a few more transfers, I don't think think it would turn into the Wild West because, quite frankly not everyone can do it. And through all of this, no one has mentioned, that it seems to be completely ok for a non athlete to switch schools. No one seems to get too worked up by that. Again, I think sometimes we take sports a little too seriously. In the end, most are just kids, having fun, and very few are going to be playing in college. And if an elite student can transfer freely with no penalty, to further their chances at getting a scholarship, then why not give the elite athlete the same chance.

Probably because the Cov Cath football players were posting on twitter about how great it was that Aaron was coming to play football next year.

It's not about fighting it or having the resources to fight it. I know people with the resources who still lost their battle for eligibility.

I might be a little different but if a kid does not want to play for his school then let him go. Sure it's a bitter pill to swallow but move on, one player does not make a team. Knowing coach he will develop someone else and will be better off in the long run.

Your "let him go" implies Boone gets to make the call. That is not correct.

They can give reasons why but the determination is made by the KHSAA.

Unless a school is thought to tamper with a student-athlete I can't think of any valid reason for a school to every challenge it. Kid wants to leave he wants to leave. Move on.

Let the kid play. His family is topnotch and would not be trying to get over on anyone here.

 

The KHSAA is a joke, we have already proven that so I would guess the transfer will not be contested.

 

Public to Private is a little easier to get by with then public to public. Who is to say the kid isn't transferring to develop his Catholic education?

I asked earlier and have not seen a response, what would he gain by transferring?
