They have plenty of spine as we've seen in the past. Floyd will have to sell public to private, as a private to public could potentially also. Not sure what the by laws are on this.

Should be easy to sell the educational upgrade advantage of CCH over public school. Sports is just secondary to the classroom. Public to Private is almost always allowed without a fight.

I will say I have heard lots of information, some of it conflicting, and all of it allegedly with the Floyd family as the the source.

I will bite, what does CCH offer that Boone doesn't academically? If it is that much better, that would mean he is behind and would have a lot of catching up to do, playing sports would put a big strain on ever catching up.

I think public to private is more difficult, than the other way around.

The educational upgrade advantage is not only a lame excuse but if Boone County's education is so bad then the school should be shut down.

 

As I said earlier, I bet he ends up playing for CCH if his family wants to send him there but that doesn't make it the right thing to do when it comes to the KHSAA allowing him to play this year.

 

I don't care what excuse is being used to allow the transfer, anything short of the family moving to Ft Mitchell then he shouldn't be allowed to play. It's nothing against him at all, he is a great kid, it's simply the double standard KHSAA always seems to show that gets old. If you are going to allow him to play this year then do away with the transfer rules all together and let anyone play wherever they want. If they don't do away with the rules then don't allow transfers who played varsity sports the previous year to be able to play the next year unless they moved into the district period.

 

I do wonder how much of the move has to do with little Johnny not getting the recognition some thought he would of gotten already to make the move to the next level easier. So instead of maybe pointing the finger at little Johnny himself, the people running his life point the finger to the school itself and think getting him to a CCH or HHS will be the magic cure. Just tossing it out there since no one has said the reason for the transfer in the first place. I will boldly go to where others may be afraid to go

I agree with the posters above questioning an educational upgrade at CCH over Boone.

 

One thing I would certainly do if I were Boone County is try to prevent A. Floyd from playing against Boone in the season opener. Slow play the paperwork, get an agreement he won't play in that game before signing paperwork, etc. If there is something I could do, I would do it. I would be ok with him leaving if that is what he wants but I would not want him playing in that game and then rubbing my nose in it.
