GOP put her in the spotlight because the party of suburban males wants to project a softer image. Cathy had no specifics on what the Republicans would do to fix our country's problems, which largely were caused by GOP policies.

January 29, 201412 yr Yes, the event is a bit archaic and at times even silly, but it is the closest thing Americans have to grand political theater, of which the British do so well. I would like to see the State of the Union address continue to be broadcast live by all the major TV networks, since the event offers our school children an inside peek into the workings of our three branches of government -- especially when right-wing legislators yell, "You lie!" January 29, 201412 yr Author An interesting read for me on TSOTU Address was Obama staking claim for the economic recovery we have had, but lamenting the stock market has made the rich richer and left the middle and lower classes behind. Yet, this has been his economy for 5 years. Is it not his policies that have caused this situation, as he sees it? Maybe it is time for him to look at the states of Florida, Texas, Wisconsin and the Dakotas and try what they are doing to improve their economies.

Its the legality of the orders in question. The fact the AG couldn't cite the precedent on how some of these EO's are legal in front of congress is scary.
