I hope he has a new laser gun, as his laser like focus has not worked well over the past 5 years. He should see what laser guns are being used in the states of North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, Texas and Florida. Without their laser like focus there would be little to no growth in the US economy.

I wonder how many Supreme Court justices will boycott the Big Speech? The number who actually show up shrinks every year. This sets a fine example to young people: If you don't like the messenger, don't participate. Just drop out.

The teaching of disrespect for 1/3 of our federal government was a poor example for our young people.

The teaching of disrespect for 1/3 of our federal government was a poor example for our young people. I agree. Obama should not have criticized the court in his 2010 State of the Union speech regardless of how misguided the Citizens United decision was. He should have made his displeasure known in a different arena -- perhaps at a presidential news conference when six of the nine justices weren't sitting near him. Having said that, Scalia, Thomas, Alito, etc. are simply making a political statement by their non-attendance. Bunch of judicial prima-donnas.

NPR was reporting this morning that another major point to speak on would be preschool programs - which was a fairly prominent talking point in last year's State Of The Union Address.

I have read reports that programs like Head Start lose all their advantages by the time students hit the third grade. A good kindergarten program will wipe out any disadvantages young ones may have. I watched one State of the Union by Bush 41 and one by Clinton. That is all I have seen in the last 25 years. I saw on the news Gov. Beshear is a guest for tonight's speech.
