January 16, 201412 yr No team needs punks. You don't have to be a punk to be good. While i agree you do not have to be a punk to be good. I would venture to say that the majority of good players were considered or labeled a punk by someone, somewhere at sometime. But like most things in life it is all about perception. Mine is to hold on judgement until i have personally met the person and usually then i give the benefit of the doubt.

January 16, 201412 yr Just my thoughts on Elam. Great potential but a head case constantly needing attention! Maybe he will settle down once he arrives at UK Sounds like a NKY QB a couple years ago. Didn't' work for him. Hopefully he get it straight. Like others, not a fan but not because of his off the field which doesn't help, but his on the field performance that I saw. Maybe he had a couple bad games. Then again if Bama wants him, then he must have something to offer.
January 20, 201412 yr I've seen him play; if someone is willing to give him an education based on that then he should sign at the first opportunity. He wouldn't get an offer if it was my money being used to finance it. But then, I wouldn't have offered Zeke Pike either.

January 20, 201412 yr From everything I've heard, Elam isn't a bad kid. He's just one of those kids who loves attention and it rubs people the wrong way, which is how I feel. Elam is going to be a project player. In order for him to see the field at all he will need to at least get down to 340. Does Elam have the motivation or will power to do that? I don't know

January 21, 201412 yr How many times has Elam been in trouble? Suspended? Elam has never been in trouble or suspended. He is a really good kid, but I agree he may love the spotlight a little too much. As soon as he signs his LOI all that goes away.
