Regarding the All American Game and announcing. Elam goes into the game undecided, gets pressure from the network to give them his decision days before the game because they needed to know to stage the announcement. He tells them he is not ready. They put pressure on him to make a decision. He refers to family and coaches and they decide as a group to wait to signing day. From my understanding, this is the only beef he had with the All American game.

I think it is really unfair to judge Matt based off of hear say and social media. I know the kid personally and he is a great guy who has a big heart. Just like a lot of people in the news who have bad reps you only hear about the negative never the good.

I will say something about Elam and I really wish I didn't feel this way. This started during the year and only continued throughout the post season awards and the Army All American game and then afterwards with his remarks on twitter toward N Fant.

Sorry but Elam is and has come across a punk. His tweets I heard about and then read myself after the fact sounded like they came from a real punk. I now hope he goes elsewhere, UK can do better.

 

Not a fan of the kid and that is a shame because I want all KY kids to be succesful and make me proud of them. I haven't felt this way about a kid since Zeke Pike. It's a shame that Elam is now in that same group imo.

I disagree. It's easy to just brush it off as 18 year olds being 18 years old. But that is a cop out in my opinion. 17 or 18 years is old enough to know what class is and what being a punk is.

 

People need to quit coddling these players who are constantly getting out of line and admit if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck then most probably it's a duck.

Yea I can blame elam because "if" Fant tweeted something to start it, at least he came enough to his senses to delete it, Elam first off didn't delete any of his, and Elam's wasn't just 1 tweet, it was numerous tweets and he came off sounding like a first class punk. If I read Fan'ts and thought the same I would say the same thing about him, but the fact is I didn't read his and it was deleted.

I've seen my fair share also and have seen some really great players who didn't have to be punks to be great. David Pollack comes to mind right off the bat.....I believe he played in the SEC also.

I don't think "punks" are limited to a particular conference. I've seen them in all leagues.

My friend Slobberknocker is right on. Elam is a good kid with a big heart. Is he boisterous at times? You darned right he is. Just like I was in high school and a lot of other kids were in high school who were athletes. Anyone judging him negatively has no clue what kind of person he is. So keep judging and talking, it isn't like he cares. Both Elam and Fant were wrong in their tweets but they are 17 year kids for crying out loud. And oh by the way, their two schools have one heck of a rivalry going in football in case no one has noticed. Both are great football players and I hope they both learned from what they did.
