Fitness 2014 let's all have a great year

Yikes... I had no idea it was that expensive. I will certainly not be trying that.

I don't think any of the ones in Louisville are that cheap. Most of them I looked at are $125-$150. There may be 1 that's only $100. I pay $85 and that's about as cheap as you will see. If you get out in a rural area you can find some for less but not much. We went to Destin last year and I was looking gyms there to go to while in town. I looked at each one's website for daily and weekly rates, most there were $200-$300 per month.

I feel blessed to be able to work out in my company's gym for $50 a year. We have all the machines, weights, classes, showers, lockers, and personal trainers. When we enter, we swipe our work badges and collect points which we can use to buy stuff later. My workout partner is my son who also works at the same company.

That's just outrageous to me. I'd never pay that much for a gym membership.

I'm blessed as well, paying $100 a year to use a gym that has all the weights, machines, treadmills, basketball, and etc. Never would I pay more per month for Crossfit what I pay in a whole year.

I don't blame anyone for have sticker shock at the cost of a CrossFit gym membership. I will say this, I've gone to regular gyms for years and it's not even close to comparison. If you find a good Crossfit gym it more then worth the money.

I had sticker shock for a LONG time before I finally committed to my trainer. But in the end her clientele speaks for itself and I decided to give it three months. Best thing I ever did. I've set MASSIVE PR gains in every race I've done since joining.

If every day were like today... You'd weigh 181.7 lbs in 5 weeks

I gained 8 pounds during the program this time, the program before I had gained 5 pounds.

We are taking a week off and do another program.

I won't weigh in until the program is complete.

Put in 1000 burned calories today. Can't make the gym tomorrow because of a triple header. Weighing in Saturday morning to see where I'm at.

I think he finally stopped talking to me about it. I refuse to pay $100+ a month.

Haha yea price is steep. Which is why I will only do it on the weekend if I do. As for today I played a game that was essentially tackle basketball today for about 2 hours(not sure how no one was seriously injured) and then spent a couple of hours doing some MMA type stuff on the mats, I'm already sore as hell.

That's just outrageous to me. I'd never pay that much for a gym membership.

It's just a different lifestyle. A lot of those folks are affluent individuals that like to compete. Also a lot of them don't drink alcohol and eat moderately healthy so they're not spending their money on those things but rather on a gym instead. If people didn't get a lot out of it they definitely wouldn't pay those prices.

A guy I worked with was a certified trainer and told all of at work that he felt anyone who paid for a trainer was not real smart. He use to tell us how it was the easiest 40 bucks an hour he ever earned. I would never pay for one, but would never disrespect those who do.

1000 yards in 17:24 for a 1:44/100 pace. Felt the layoff on that one. Did the first 400 at a ~ 1:30 clip and then DIED...:lol2: :lol2: But...I have a benchmark and a t-pace for training purposes.

Did it this morning. 1000 in 16:39 for a 1:40/100 pace. A lot better job pacing that one and 45 second improvement.

I would pay the gym fees and trainer fees for myself, if I was not paying for Club soccer and AAU basketball for my kids.

Maybe someday....
