Petrino is back at Louisville

I can see that line of thinking, but I don't think Cal had a huge adultery moment blow up on him and he never quit a team he was coaching in the middle of a dismal season like Petrino did.

You're right. He just had to vacate 2 Final 4s.

Has Petrino ever lost to UK? Maybe, just maybe that's why the UKers have taken such interest in this hire.

Seriously? That's all you have. I know you hate UK more than anything else on earth, but this is a compelling hire for a multitude of reasons. Even on the national level. Maybe, just maybe your extreme dislike of UK gets in the way of seeing that.

Now Jurich only needs Tiger to coach golf...

I guess we are moving from "stepping stone" for first time head coaches, to "second chance" for disgraced coaches. I don't doubt he'll win. I just hope he stays long enough for us to be able to lure an HC when he leaves again. FWIW, maybe he will be thinking the grass is green enough right here in the 'Ville this time. At one point in an interview, he mentioned that leaving Louisville had been a mistake.

Sometimes people learn from their mistakes. I hope he has.

Sighing along with ya Rockmom. I guess this is were we "turn the other cheek"? And I hope it not the one "south of the border" if you catch my drift.

When UK fans are posting/tweeting as much as Louisville fans about their coach, what does that say about the UK fans?

(Note: I'm not talking about on here. That's obviously why we are all here, to discuss these things.)

I don't disagree, but to be fair, it's not just UK fans, and Louisville has given them the easiest target possible with this hire. Louisville fans can't get mad when people are taking shots at them for hiring Petrino. They just can't, the shots are warranted.

I personally think it's a home run hire, but I, and I think you do as well, understand why people are going to kill them for it.

I seem to be striking a lot of nerves recently. And for what it's worth I hate Obama worse then anything else on Earth. UK is after that.

I hope so too, although leaving a program after a single season tends to say he hasn't.

He is more likely to stay, partly because of his tarnished reputation, but also he is not nearly as highly thought of as a coach. His overall record since leaving Louisville is something like 24 wins and 30 losses, which means he has won 44% of his games, most would think the baggage is not worth it.

Looks like they need to update those core values at UL....

First order of biz for BP:

Paint over Charlie's "5 Core Values" sign.

U of L sure likes their high-profile adulterers. :lol2:

The only thing that ever bothered me about Petrino was the lying to the Arkansas officials about the whole motorcycle incident and compromising the integrity of his position. Beyond that who cares if he screws around? Seriously. Now don't hurt the kids, I get that but I never got all worked over the other stuff. People switch jobs all the time. That's America. He is great for college football.

To go along with leaving one DURING a single season. (i.e. see Atlanta Falcons)

Not sure where you got those numbers... He's 42-21 (Arkansas and WKU) since he left... 83-30 if you include his time at UofL.
