Petrino is back at Louisville

I've typed out multiple posts and deleted them all. If I'm being honest from a W/L perspective this is a good hire for the Cards. Now from a personal perspective this was the best hire because this gives me a whole offseason to come up with jokes to make Deuce mad. :dancingpa

Is John L returning?

One of numerous rumors surrounding prospective staffers right now.

Randy Shannon as DC is the one I really hope turns out to be true; certainly from a recruiting standpoint.

I saw mention of Chizik as DC.

I heard after accepting the UL job, he placed immediate calls to the Redskins to inquire about their vacancy.

Saw that one too. Turning into a real rogues gallery on the UofL sideline. :lol2:

Somebody on Twitter said he should ride out of the tunnel on a motorcycle.

:lol2:

Now THAT would be awesome :lol2:

Just caught the PTI segment about Petrino on ESPN. Quotes from Wilbon:

"What's the old quote about the devil you know and the devil you don't? Petrino's the devil they know and they know he's a great coach."

"His word is worth absolutely nothing and Louisville already knows that going in."

Well, at some schools coaches are role models and father figures for teens.

Really? What schools are those so I'll know not to send my kids there? The last thing I need is my kid looking up to a college coach. This is college and not high school isn't it? Those college coaches just scream role model. Calipari, Pitino, Bobby Knight, Petrino, Saban, Meyer, Tressel....get out of here. Role models.

I will admit Petrino was not my first choice but he was in my top 3. I said before as fans UL will have to take all the jabs.

Now I also have said this before on BGP and get killed every time I do.

When Major Colleges stop firing guys for losses and raise for being good guys then I will care more about personal life of a coach.

Example Tubby Smith great man but Cat fans upset over wons

Amen bro.

Yeah you certainly hope so. But in the back of your mind, there is a little part of it telling you: what kind of people will my son be associated with and hanging around with at UL? Will Petrino be the kind of coach that reinforces what I've taught my son or will Petrino be the kind of coach that could be a bad influence on my 18 year old son living away from home and away from my guidance for the first time in his life and living in an environment that will provide a lot of temptations and opportunities for bad things to happen?

If you don't think that a whole lot of Moms and Dads will be having those thoughts, I think you are mistaken.

Moms and dads don't pick the school. The kid does. And when mom and dad pick the school the kid eventually transfers when he grows a set.

The only difference between Petrino and other college coaches that are apparently role models is that we know Petrino's faults. The rest just hide it from you guys better.

So many naive people.

My kid looks up to Jimbo Fisher. Good job dad. My role model is dude named Jimbo.

Seriously, I think more people, like myself, dont like his pattern in leaving schools so soon. Granted the Arkansas mess was caused by his stupid actions. With his off the field crap. Its embarrassing for him and the school he was at. By doing what he did, he ruined Arkansas program. If you dont want to get caught dont do it. In todays age you cant do anything without people knowing.

UL fan here, I hope this works out, I really do. I also wouldn't have minded him at UK.

How many times has a MAJOR program hired a coach that was there before....and it work out?

Kansas St.?

I'm afraid this is going to be a train wreck......

Pretty much par for the course for him.

What size are you Deucy D it's on me...
