I just wonder if all of the people who live in glass houses, do they worry about the personal imperfections/marriages of their doctor, dentist, insurance agent, banker, pharmacist, etc? Nope. Oh, that's right…they aren't, "role models" of young men (when they should be as well). But, it's kind of funny how people pick and choose when to pull the doctor/lawyer > coach/athlete card.

 

People can talk about him changing schools all they want, the fact is, it's his screw up at Arkansas with his mistress that causes the problem. That's it.

 

I don't here people bashing the Tom Brady's for leaving his girlfriend of three years (who I think at the time was his fiancé) while she was a few months pregnant with his first child for another woman (during the pregnancy at that). Talk about a crappy move (while we are talking about moral flaws). At least Petrino has tried to reconcile the situation. The only people he needs to get right with are his God and his wife, and other than that, it's none of my business. Nor do I care.

 

I will say this, I think this needs to be his final stop. I'm all for people moving around to better themselves within their respected profession, but there also comes a time when to obey the ole "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." Here is guessing he has gotten things right again with his wife & family…I just hope he does the same throughout his tenure at Louisville & for the rest of his career.

….I should throw professors, Deans and other academic collegiate staff members in there as well. I'm sure those questioning sending their kids to be with Bobby P are really researching their kids professors.

 

I had a professor in college, he was actually the dad of my longtime girlfriend at the time…long story short, he was a 'playa' from way back…Mid 50's and this joker seemed to have a different woman every time the seasons changed (was divorced, and truth be told, didn't have much of a relationship with his daughter); I'm sure the other student-athletes who were in my class with him had parents who were really concerned as much about him as they did their son/daughters coach(es).

 

…I mean, after all, Professors>Coaches, right?

If Petrino is a changed man then what is your answer to him leaving WKU after a year? And Harry, coaches are a figure head for the university. They have a different standard to adhere to then anyone else. His off the field transgressions ruined a program as well so you've got that goin for ya

I totally agree that coaches are the figure heads of the university. TOTALLY. My issue is that people pick and choose when to make that relevant. For example, those that feel they shouldn't be paid the millions they get bc they are "just coaches", but lets magnify their marital issues. I think you know what I mean. People pick and choose when they think coaches should be the most important person of a university or even high school for that matter.

 

I don't know about you, but I knew the WKU deal was just for a year or two MAX. WKU is going to come out fine with this move. They just went 8-4, one of their better years to date (even with no bowl game) and UL is going to be paying them his buyout, which is going to in turn allow them to put those millions back into the program. They paid 800+K and are getting 4-5 times that back….I'm not the most business savvy of individuals, but that's a pretty good return on investment.

Moms and dads don't pick the school. The kid does. And when mom and dad pick the school the kid eventually transfers when he grows a set.

If the parents aren't a part of the process as well then there is deffinatly a problem. Of course the kid should have the final say but without input and advice from his parents then the parents probably weren't a big part of the kids life in the first place. I guess it's the way you raise them. Hopefully your child will look to you for guidance is all I'm saying.
