Petrino is back at Louisville

Who will be UL's QB next year? It seems to me that Petrino always has a great QB in the stable. Had it with Brohm at UL, Mallett and Tyler Wilson at Ark

Will Gardner will be #1 on the depth chart.

For those that don't think Petrino can recruit. Jody Demling just tweeted what I mentioned in the other thread yesterday. 11 of the guys in Petrino's first two recruiting classes at UofL ended up in the NFL, and several are still playing.

I am not in to counting stars for how good of a recruiter someone is. Bridgewater was not the highest of recruits but is slated as the #1 QB. Can you identify talent? For Petrino, yes. That is all you need to know.

However, the only difference this time around will be the pitch he must make to recruits given what has transpired since being at UL. When he returned to Arkansas, he could just say the NFL was not for him. How it all went down at Arkansas he will have to answer more questions to recruits and it will provide some added hesitation. This is his 5th home in 6 years.

Your second sentence basically contradicts your first sentence.

Let's be honest, John L and Charlie basically owned UK also but most (not all) UK fans to some degree respected them, maybe not liked them but respected them. Me, I actually liked both John L. and Charlie. I believe most UK fans are like me in that their dislike of Petrino is because the man is a pompous (arse) who shows little for anyone else but himself which includes his AD's, his players, his wife, etc..

I agree. I cannot stand Petrino, even to the point that I could not root for WKU this year. I found it very difficult not to like Strong and Bridgewater, so to be perfectly honest, I'm glad they are hiring Petrino as it gives me a villain to root against.

Fair assessment. He could tell them "the grass isn't always greener." I'm sure he will be questioned by some recruits, but winning is what sells schools to a recruit.

I also think some kids are so out of touch with things his past transgressions will be forgot about in no time, assuming he wins. Say he is there 3 years from now. He is going in to homes of kids that were 10 years old when all the drama started. Time heals all wounds. Even from a motorcycle accident. :D

Hammer who you want' date=' win games. That goes for all coaches at all schools. I don't understand how people continue to be so shocked when a college goes after really good coaches with character flaws. While they give sportsmanship trophies, they give them to 2nd place. No boosters are giving more money to the University for sportsmanship awards.[/quote']

I believe he had to be asked this question by Jurich and gave him a satisfactory answer.

If you think very many college football prospects care about that, you're lying to yourself.

Whoever it is, he will have a coach who has an incredible track record for developing QB's.

Duplicate Post.

Tell those prospects to enjoy a lengthy divorce settlement someday and public humiliation.
