Final four every year coaching until this year, with two titles? Yep, the sky is surely falling. Don't see the 90's happening again. Under anyone.

Check the school you often discuss: Highlands

VOR: The point I believe you always attempt to make is that the Beechwood slip came towards the end of Yeagle's tenure. I would say the Rash regime=Tubby Smith's at UK.

I do not agree with the "Take Any Teacher" part, but do agree with the point you are making. That said, Rash's own wife can take pride in the fact that signicantly responsible for great ACT scores. The teachers get them ready and she preapres them for the ACT. She's very good at it.

Just to the students she cherry picks. That is a fact.

VOR,

could you give us the scores records vs Cov Cath and NCC Coach Rash and if possible back to the 2000s Yeagle years?

IMO they should be able to play even with NCC and competitive losses with Cov Cath would be acceptable.

I am a outsider with no dog in the fight but a outsider who has closely followed all things Bw football for years for obvious reasons and I come from a program that has the same great tradition and one that went through a slump a few years ago. Here are a few thoughts.

Mayfield will almost certainly be moving to 2A, problem solved for Bw and Rash. Should Bw move up also we would be on oppsoite sides of the state so the only way we would play would be in the state title game

Mayfield went through a similar, if not worse slump ending in 2008. At the end of that season the locals were up in arms calling for Morris head, someone even put a for sale sign in his front yard. In the end Morris proved all wrong, including me, as it turned out he had already began making changes that eventually led to Mayfield being the Kings of 1A. The changes I refer to are the same ones that it appears to me Rash is trying to make now. We got murdered by NCC in the finals by a spread team (The only loss a Mayfield team has ever had to a NKY team:ylsuper:) and we were still a run oriented team like we had been since the begining of time, a strategy that had made us one of Kentucky's great programs and won us many state titles over decades. He got with Tony Franklin, a former Mayfield assistant (bet most of you all didn't know that), and he got a young offensive coordinator who ran that system in college. The development was a hybred and it took a couple of years to get the kinks out but by 2009 we went with it all in and have never looked back. Bw seems to me to be trying to follow this course but I have stated numrous times onthis board that it does not happen over night and this year would be a learning experience. I fully expect that offense to run night and day smoother next season.

Now has Rash been a disapointment, in my unbiased opinion, yes! things have slipped and he is the coach so he is responsible and this is about football and not who is a good teacher or nice guy. I have always heard he is a great guy and so is Joe Morris but if they don't win and win big at schools like Beechwood and Mayfield then they need not be the head coach or better be thicked skinned becasue there will always be bashing. Rash should have began modernizing his offense sooner and he did not and I think that was a mistake that hurt Bw in the wins and losses department. Morris turned it around so maybe Rash will as well.

Where is Qickslick? Sad that he would not be here defending his program and coach in such a dark hour

Indy, you have to understand these wonder classes have come and gone and not got it done. It takes alot more than talent. I still strike a nerve when I tease about the NKY Frosh champs after being told they were going to rule 1A. You keep it up and you will get years of torment too.

Sky is not falling and in class A it can happen again !

That is the expectation in FT Mitchell like it or not ! That is the expectation Coach Yeagle set.

I have been following this thread all weekend and do not know where to begin but will make a few quick points and observations:

1- VOR has no clue.

2- VOR has no clue.

3- History and Toothpick are dead on.

4- Playing career has nothing to do with coaching ability. There are guys who made it to the NFL that can't read.

5- There has been a drop off at Beechwood the last couple of years and it has zero to do with the talent level or the opponents talent. Kids are soft.I would use another term here but do not want to get the boot.

6-Since 2006 Beechwood has defeated zero teams they were not supposed to beat and never beat NCC and CCH in the same year. IMO these teams are the measuring stick for the program like it or not .

7-VOR has no clue.

8- Class A titles alone will not do.

So what needs to be done IMO ?

Rash is the guy for the job. He needs to take a long hard look at his staff and his own organization. This not easy to do in life, business or sports. He will need to make painful decisions soon IMO. I have spent time on the sidelines for all of the previous coaching staffs going back to the late 70's and this group does not measure up to the previous staffs IMO. Halftime adjustments and in game adjustments are non-exsistant.They are way too predictable. Number one they have too many coaches or so called coaches. Need to reduce the staff by half at least. Based on the returning talent now is the best time to do this.

Its the same old same old. Just go back in the BGP archives and read.

I think the majority of the Beechwood faithful are in coach Rash's corner ? It is time for him to take a long hard painful look at his program/structure and make some changes. I have confidence that that will happen. The same old same old is not going to cut it. I just hope for Noels sake the Old Ft. Mitchell mafia does not get there panties in a wad. If that was to happen ? Well lets just say even Vince Lombardi may have been in trouble. The expectations are high at Beechwood. That's a good thing. Now is the time for change.

Toothpick, remember what I told you in the weeks leading up to the BW Vs MF game and at that game last year?

Ironically, the year that Beechwood really had the team to win it all, (and IMO one of the best teams I have ever seen at Beechwood) the Tigers not only lost to Mayfield but cost Mayfield a title as well IMO - so neither of them got the title.

This post says it all and is a true barometer of your Beechwood knowledge ! 2011 team would not make my top 10.

So if I figured this correctly

Yeagle last 6 years

6-5 with 1 loss greater than 7 points

Rash 8 years

3-6 with 3 losses greater than 7 points

Safe to say that NCC has turned the tied vs BW in recent years.

Toothpick, remember what I told you in the weeks leading up to the BW Vs MF game and at that game last year?

As a matter of fact I thought of you as I was thinking about this thread and how I see Bw which is different than the locals see it say maybe you and a few others

Also, the current staff has only 1 win VS CCH.

Yeagle was well above .500 including a couple wins in years CCH was winning state titles !

:lol2: I wish I had a $1.00 for every time I have heard this the past couple of years. Hell they might have more than Highlands, and the Birds have a :poop: pot full of them.

BTW........I think it's safe to say, you don't agree with VOR.

Who is talking State Titles? Rash did not get the program to the level it is at. It was at a high level when he got there and he has barely maintained it. I would argue that it has even gone backwards. You are the one that keeps talking about titles. Because that's a stat that you feel you can put up against Yeagle.

Anyone that thinks Beechwood was not the better team last night "needs to do a self check" Coaches did not have Beechwood prepared and once again they did not control a game they should have. That's on the coaches.

It comes down to this for me. Titles are not what matters. What matters is did Rash and his staff get the most out of what they had and can he say that we gave our all and did our best. The answer is absolutely NO and that's the answer for the the last 3 seasons. If you blame lack of talent, you are WEAK.

I talked to a kid who was on the field after the game. I asked him what Rash said. Unbelievably to me, he said "he blamed us". So, five minutes after a tough loss, he is telling the line that they "didn't get it done up front" and telling the team they made too many mistakes. There is no doubt that this is the case, but a "good coach" would not do that. As far as I'm concerned, he's a weak excuse for a leader.

As always, blind backers will allow Rash to make the excuse that we had injuries, we just didn't have the horses (talent) to get it done or my personal favorite, we were out-manned. That makes them feel better. In the end, nothing will change and eventually he will stumble on enough talent to get win a title. That won't change my opinion.

WRONG! You don't have to like Rash, you may want him gone, but I for one was standing about 6' away from Rash when he addressed the kids, he did not blame it on the kids, he did say the better team won the game and that the team made to many mistakes, and if you watched the game and saw the 10+ penalties that were called, or tackling a heck of a running back to high, would agree with too many mistakes. Don't make something up to validate your point, if you don't like Rash just admit it, it ok, we live in a free country.

I don't have an answer to whether changes need to be made or not, but what I will say is this.

last year I thought the team was a one trick pony with Nussbaum. Then the play of the Frosh had me thinking this year they would battle Mayfield and had a shot at doing something special again and were on the right path with the mixture of their upperclassman and underclassmen.

Then the season started and I was puzzled at the lack of using some of their upperclassmen who were pretty talented. Instead it seemed to focus on the soph's and before you knew it the season was over. They performed better last year with what I thought was less than this year with a pretty good mixture of upper and underclassmen.

Whats the answer? I don't know, it's not my decision, but something has stuck out when reading this thread. What team has Beechwood beaten when not favored to win? I can't think of any. Maybe that alone speaks volumes and on top of that the team this year being overall more talented than last years and performing worse than last years speaks volumes. Is coach Rash a bad coach? No, not even close, but the question is wether fair or not, is he the right fit for Beechwood? Maybe not.

Like it or not, Beechwood is a rare program that has the history of being an elite team I. Class 1A and the expectations will tend to be higher than most other schools. It would be similar to Highlands if they got. New coach and although the coach may win 84 games in 8 years and 2 state titles, will that be enough to satisfy Highlands fans after the expectations they have grown accustomed to? I'd say no. It's the same at Beechwood who was the Dale of Beechwood before their was a Dale at Highlands. Is it fair? Maybe not but it is the reality of it all.

As a matter of fact I thought of you as I was thinking about this thread and how I see Bw which is different than the locals see it say maybe you and a few others
i mentioned about the. "rumblings" then. As you could tell I was content while sitting with you all, I knew what would happen, if I recall I was only 1 off. I would had loved to have been wrong, but as you know the rest of that weekend was fun!
