Z5 ... I have read through your post 3 times now and you will probably be surprised when I say I agree with a lot of what you say - except the part about me not having a clue.

 

As I said above in an earlier post, I am trying to add the other side of the discussion to what the bashers are throwing out there. I said above that there have been changes and I am sure there will be more evaluation and changes. Everyone at Beechwood wants and expects more, including Coach Rash.

 

One question I would like to hear the answer to from you or History - what team did Beechwood beat that they weren't supposed to beat in the 6 or 7 years before Rash became the coach?

I also question you on last year's team being soft. I didn't see that at all. But I have no clue so I am sure I am wrong. I will pass on your thoughts to Max Nussbaum, Chris Lightner, Corey Biddle, Chad Evans, Colin Justice, Gage Erdman ... you know, the guys you think were soft. I would say you have no clue on that one, but I am not going there. Of course, since you feel they are soft I am sure you have no problem telling them that yourself. Let me know when you do because I would like to be there for that discussion.

 

My main point is this. Beechwood's program is still at the top tier level in the state. Beechwood has experienced great success with Coach Rash.

 

We agree on Rash, and that is what is most important in this discussion. We agree that there needs to be improvement. We agree that there needs to be more changes made within the program to get better. Heck, I think Coach Rash agrees with all that. But, I have no clue, so take that comment for what it is worth in your opinion.

 

Don't have it all available right in front of me, but am certain they beat some CovCath teams that went on to win the AAA state title. (Back when there were 4 classes of football in Kentucky.) Also beat Bernie Barre's Wyoming (Ohio) team that was supposed to be pretty good in an early Crossdown Showdown.

I don't think any wins over CCH state champions occurred in the 6-7 year time frame he mentioned before Rash took over though since the last CCH state championship would have been about 10 years?

That is a great question - which is a better job Ryle or Beechwood. They are both really good jobs.

If I had a choice, I'd say BW is the better job. Better facilities and much better tradition plus the knowledge that not only the entire school but the entire community is behind the program. Not sure yyou can say that about Ryle.

They are still thinking 1990's and completely block out the last 6 or 7 years of Yeagle's tenure. Times change. Football has changed a lot since the 1990's and the challenges are very different. I want everyone to have an accurate view, not a selective view.

I think that game vs Holmes was shortened because of lightning. Possibly only 2 1/2 quarters.

I know a few of the offensive lineman at Beechwood and let me assure you that they are quite capable maulers. :idunno:
