February 8, 201412 yr Ockerman 8th grade defeated RA Jones today in their district semi-final while Gray took care of Camp Ernest. Gray and Ockerman will play Monday night for the Championship. Chris McNeil played very well for Ockerman. Shot the ball well and had some really nice looks finding open teammates. Ockerman came out and played well from the start. Put up 24 in the first quarter!
February 8, 201412 yr IHM wins big over the Colts (44 to 27). Coldiron had a big game inside, #15 for IHM hit some threes. Colts looked good in the first with Ginn scoring 9 points. 2nd quarter Ginn gets hurt and Camp gets into foul trouble, from there it was down hill. Good game, IHM will be a tough out in the regionals, if their guards can hit a couple of outside shots it will open the middle up for Coldiron.
February 9, 201412 yr Results from District 4..... Highlands girls 7th win easily over Newport, advance to finals on Monday night at Highlands. Highlands girls 6th win, defeating Campbell County in double overtime. Highlands district champs, but both teams advance to regional. It would not be a great surprise if the regional final was a rematch of this game.

Some of the numbers of games play, seem excessive especially when played on school nights, for grade school kids! I've always been amazed at the number of games these kids play. They get very little practice time once the season starts, and with only 6 minute quarters (24 minute games) there just isn't enough time to develop players.

This years numbers are off but I would guess that in typical years that most NKMSL teams play 20 to 25 games depending on how they do come tourney time. If a team decides to play in some extra tournaments or extra games outside of league play then that is on them...not the NKMSL. Also, the Catholic school teams play in the Catholic school leagues that are played at St. Henry, Cov Cath, NDA etc. That adds 10 to 12 games to their schedules. IMO the number of games is not a concern.
