With that said, there are a lot of schools that do the same or worse, yet hide it better......

Without violating any rules or laws, and without making any accusations, I can give you some thoughts to ponder:

1. What if a program received a transfer student that had a transcript that said they had completed their freshman and sophomore years but had to repeat their sophomore year and the player had already played two years of athletics and the new program ignored that and let the player play three additional years, even after the schools councilor told the coaches that player was ineligible?

2. What if a school superintendent owned rental property and allowed multiple out of state players use his rental property's address while the students were still living out of state, and the school was getting Kentucky state money to educate those students that supposedly lived in the Kentucky?

3. Did your school spend $180,000 on football last year, minus facilities, salaries and equipment?

4. What if a coach had been removed from an out of state schools facilities because the out of state school's football coach was tired of this coach encouraging his players to transfer?

5. If a superintendent's son was a teacher at another school and many student athletes transfer from the son's school to the superenintendent's school then the son is no longer retained by his school, what would your conclusion be about that situation?

6. If multiple players are ineligible at their school, can they transfer to another school and become immediately eligible?

7. Should a judge who's wife owns a thriving business in a school district make a decision on eligibility of a player in that school district, or recuse himself?

8. Should a High School Principle who also coaches football cuss and yell at fans of opposing teams?

9. What would the logical explanation be if multiple players have given an address of residency and when the person that owns the house says they have never seen those students?

10. What if a person who is an AAU coach in another state who has multiple players who have transferred to a school that pays him $500 per week to transport two students to an off campus vocational school?

 

Ram, you are on the money. Of course "hypothetical" talking. The utter arrogance and dis regard for the rules with this is..well disgusting! Those of us who know the story, have known it would be bad if it ever came down. The shoe hasn't eveb begin to drop, this very well could end up a criminal case.

That is chicken (insert another word here) If you choose to break the rules and you get caught dont start that crap about someone else. Be a man and take responsibility for what you did.

Completely different animal, and Cordia isn't even under investigation because of the gray area question if they have even broken any rules. No relevance.

NOBODY does it worse than what Fairview has been doing. Head coach, Principal, Superintendent. Possible criminal charges over the federal money.

Heck I'll tell you two incidents that I have firsthand info about so quickslick will be satisfied.

 

First: roughly 3yrs ago, in my office in Huntington, WV, which is about 400yds north of Marcum Terrace (project housing) I walk out to the lobby and I see a family I treat as patients. Each one decked out in Fairview football sweats. Residence still the same according to their med card. I told the grandmother, whom I'd known for several yrs, that I liked her sweats. She said "they bought them for the whole family". Her words.

Later that season, the Fairview player called for an appointment. We had an opening, he came right away because "he could walk up the hill and be right there". So you tell me where they lived.

 

Second, a more recent player(s) whom I had done braces on was a Fairview student athlete yet never moved. I passed them each and every morning on the way to work, them on the way to school. Saw the oldest not long ago, asked if they were still living in the same house they did when I was seeing them as ortho patients, and without hesitation he said "yep".

 

Those are fact and just flat against khsaa bylaws. So, there's that.

 

Not sure how or why you are calling me out in regard to examples of foul play ... matter of fact ... I intentionally did NOT speak about my opinion as to whether Fairview is guilty in this situation. Matter of fact ... I could care less as to whether Fairview did this or not.

 

I do, however, care very much about the part where sidelinedoc put something on this board that he admitted was not verified. I think I made my point pretty well when in regard to the fact that the KHSAA is NEVER going to shut down an entire athletic program (because it would affect innocent kids). I am sure they will get some sort of punishment .. but it is pathetic to think that the KHSAA (or even spread that speculation) would give Fairview the death penalty.

 

Seriously ... spend a few minutes actually reading what I wrote .. as opposed to throwing crap out there that I NEVER even brought up.

5th year in high school and played while repeating a grade, both are violations. They knew it and didn't care.

Wow. 65 years ago you were eligible until the day you turned 21 or allowed five years to compete!
