You know I have heard several times that people feel sorry for the innocent people, and I'm sure there are one or two, but to be honest I don't feel sorry for anyone. If they were innocent or caught up in something this bad and didn't like it why didn't they report it? It didn't seem that anyone was upset when terrible things were said to fans of other teams, no one apologized for the behavior. It didn't seem that anyone felt bad when signs with distasteful things were hung at football games, some with just terrible things written on them. Or, how about all the terrible texts, instant messages, and Facebook comments that were sent to players from other schools by multiple players at Fairview. It didn't seem that any fans were upset to win games by breaking rules, in fact, some even boasted about it.

 

And, when some said wrong things were being done, it didn't seem that anyone was innocent in berating them and acting as if the person making the accusations was wrong and had ulterior motives for making the correct claim.

 

The only people that I feel sorry for are the players from the other schools that had to endure these acts.

Why do you think it was reported in the papers that the kid was kicked off the team for breaking team rules.

The cynic in me wonders if Fairview had beaten Raceland last week and gotten the inside track on a real deep playoff run; would we be hearing this today?

I can't think of the last time I've heard of a kid playing an extra year.

If true, playing a 5th year player is a no brainer decision. I am confused on how it took so long to be reported or was it reported much earlier and they were just investigating. However, when this came to the AD's and principal's attention you would think they would have investigated themselves and stopped it and reported. I can remember back in the late 90's I was named interim principal at a high school in Kentucky. 2nd day on the job the AD and AP came to me and said the girls soccer team played a kid at goalie that graduated the previous year. I immediately reported it to KHSAA and we forfeited the games already played, received a $500 fine and all athletics were put on probabtion for a year. Obviously, I removed the coach and gave a written reprimand to the AD ( whom I removed later) once I investigated his documentation, training and management of the athletic programs. He was just as culpable was my determination. This was unpleasant to say the least, but we controlled the damage as well as we could. Seems like there was no one ready to do the obvious in this one or they were supportive of what was going on.

I am a lot of things, but politically correct is not one of them.

Guru earlier this year you gave a poster a blank check when he alleged wrongdoing by another program and he couldn't cash that check. Ram knows things about Fairview and has said so for the last two years. Will you give Ram the same blank check and let him tell us what he knows? You did start the thread.
